She isn't any different from Luke and Anakin. Not convincing at all. The Force isn't that 'instant'. Rey was too good too fast. That's bad writing.
Imo Rey has become an uninteresting character.
The actress is good, and in Force Awakens i found her interesting but I think the problems with TLJ are due to disconnect from Abrahms setup in TFA
I don't know why they didn't stick with JJ as he obviously had a plan set out then Johnson comes in and probably doesn't know what that plan was so just does his best going in blind, and the plot starts falling apart
Really because Luke was conversating with the dead like just after one hover blaster ball session. Not convincing at all. The Force isn't that 'instant'. Rey was too good too fast. That's bad writing.
Luke did it so its ok.Really because Luke was conversating with the dead like just after one hover blaster ball session.
Hell, by the second movie he was taking on the Dark Lord of the Sith one on one.Really because Luke was conversating with the dead like just after one hover blaster ball session.
It’s fine when a man is suddenly and instantly talented at something, when it’s a woman it’s because of “forced diversity” or she’s a Mary Sue, which is just a talented female (ignore the actual meaning of the term). The penis has all the power.Luke did it so its ok.
Most of the training we’ve been shown is really just learning to let go and allow the Force to just guide you. It’s like meditation, the hard part is not thinking about anything. Just focusing on your own breathing and nothing else. It's also worth noting that Rey's lightsaber technique is hardly that of a trained Jedi. She's very aggressive and sloppy, but also cunning. Entirely appropriate for someone that's been surviving on her own for most of her life.
And while people are still complaining, remember that one of Kenobi's first lesson to Luke was that when a Jedi opens themselves to the force it (partially) controls their actions. The same thing happened in SWR with Kanan after Maul blinded him. At a time when by rights he should have been utterly debilitated, he opened himself up and got a sudden burst of preternatural skill and intuition, which vanished the second the fight was done.
Hell, by the second movie he was taking on the Dark Lord of the Sith one on one.
But that dark lord never tried to kill him, Vader was testing Luke and trying to persuade him to the dark side.
And Luke was special because his father was the chosen one, and because of his bloodline.
But because Rey can do all of those things perfect without any training, apparently Anakin and Luke aren't so special anymore.
Not convincing at all. The Force isn't that 'instant'. Rey was too good too fast. That's bad writing.
"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again."She isn't any different from Luke and Anakin.
Technically weren't they conversing with him? Doesn't take much skill to listen. Wait this is the internet, scratch that last comment.Really because Luke was conversating with the dead like just after one hover blaster ball session.
Having also not watch the video I assume it's emulation in Hollywood. This movie did well so do more of that. Rey is biggest female lead in sci-fi atm and Star Wars is only trailing behind the likes of Marvel due to having far less movies. Thus other studios and writers will try to emulate what they are doing and if you don't like what they are doing then you won't like what others are doing. I assume.Even if Rey was the worst female character, ever how would that effect other female characters? You got different writers, actors and genre to consider. Or was this covered in the video? I didn't watch it.

I see absolutely none of the above in the films.Rey went from scavenger to a better pilot than Han, a better fighter than Ren, and a better Jedi than Luke in one movie. It was a bit of a joke really![]()
