It airs first 9pm eastern in Canada, and then released on All-Access around 9:30pm. This might have to do with Canadian Tax Credits.

It's The Matrix in blue. :p

Here's a mind-bending thought: what if Star Trek doesn't take place in the 23rd Century? What if it's really been the 33rd Century all along and everyone has taken the Blue Pill? They live in the idealized Gene Roddenberry vision of the future but it's really something else and they don't know it? It would destroy all Canon Wars because the show itself would say "None of this is real. It's all imagined."

    Nah.

It would also be as bad, if not worse, than "Bobby in the Shower" and it would just alienate a much larger part of the fan base.
Even CBS isn't that stupid ... hopefully.

Yes, there are multiple places you can watch the shorts for free. If you're in America, you can get CBS All-Access with a 30-day free trial. Outside of the US, you can get a free trial via Netflix. I'm not sure how Canada works, but you can probably view them for free, legitimately, with a well-timed trial as well.

I believe Crave TV has the free trial covered for Canada.

You can get a free trial of Netflix, but you won't be seeing the Shorts with that. Short Treks are not available outside USA/Canada.

Did you happen to see the "Comments to PM" remark in cultcross' post in that thread? That doesn't just apply to the person receiving the warning, it applies to everyone. If you have a problem with a moderator action, PM them to talk about it, don't take your grievance to another thread to complain. No more comments about mod actions here.

Private messaging is the worst. I try to avoid it at all costs, since it's the opposite of open communication. I'll just delete that paragraph instead (which was intended to be an apology, not a complaint. My bad).

I forgot about that. Hopefully they resolve that issue in the near future.

For the same reason people say the next Trek film will be a "flop" before it has even been filmed?

Yeah I didn't catch the last one when it was released at night. Kinda sh*tty for me, just started working nights, won't see this until way late. Am really looking forward to this one though.

And I hope this isn't some fake out bullsh*t. Really want it to actually be way ahead in the future.

No, i´m living 1000 years after discovery.

No i vote a 10 because of the idea... thats it. Some kind of advance laurels. I think they deserved that.

The TrekToday interview with Aldis Hodge suggests that it's legit. Unless he is intentionally fibbing (which is unlikely) or there's something that happens at the last minute that he doesn't know about because he wasn't involved in the scene.

The only thing that really bothers me about the "1000 years" bit, though, is that it takes away some of the tension, because then we know nothing can happen to the Discovery on the actual show. If the ship has to survive for a thousand years, then we know it can't get blown up or anything like that.

It doesn't have to survive for a thousand years if it gets sent forward in time. It could even get sent back to the original point for all we know, or be declared lost at some time after DSC.
