Welcome to the November 2018 Fan Art Forum Challenge! Remember the "Captain Proton" holonovels that Tom Paris liked to play in? The idea: The holonovels were an adaptation of a popular series of cult sci-fi movies from the 1930's. Create promo/development art - ship, character, and/or alien concepts, promo posters, book and comic covers, etc - for the "modern, more gritty" reboot of "The Adventures of Captain Proton" that either ran for seven years as a syndicated series or streaming service program (CBSAA? ), or, as a series of movies, in the past of the Trek universe, beginning sometime between 1987 and 2019 (your choice for the year, and whether you want to present it as television or as theatrical releases). Any questions or suggestions? The Rules™ (from the Art Challenge Guidelines): the artwork you submit should be created during the month of the challenge only one final image can be submitted (although it may contain multiple views) your final entry should be posted in this thread (although dedicated WIP threads are appreciated) Have fun!
Only if I had an awesome photoshop software. I'd do either a Picard/Crusher or Janeway/Chakotay in a Gone with the Wind poster.

I'm not at all certain that would match up to the Captain Proton challenge criteria, but don't let that stop you.
Captain Proton reboot or re imagining could star Patrick Stewart/Gates McFadden or Kate Mulgrew/Robert Beltran. There could even be a flowing "romantic" poster. The Empire Strikes Back poster was romantic in featuring the kiss. it'd work.
Ah! I see. Because Finn said character names, I didn't get that he maybe actually meant the Primeverse's version of *the actors*? But yeah, that might work. (y)
In before the deadline! My idea for this months contest is that in 1987 the Captain Proton serial was rebooted as a gritty cop movie which was nearly identical to the movie Cobra which came out in 1986.
Before I forget it, here's my entry for this month: Netflix is proud to present Proton, a Netflix Original Series reimagining the 1930s science-fiction cult classic The Adventures of Captain Proton. Follow the epic tale of “Spacewoman First Class” Captain Proton and her trusty sidekick Buster Kincaid, fighting the evil forces of Doctor Chaotica and Queen Arachnia.

@USS Triumphant, the common practice these days is for the setter of the contest to post the voting thread. If you need a hand with that give a holla.
