^^^Mother of God, man, get on that.

.

Trust me, I really really want to. But I haven't read Destiny yet either. I'm relatively new to Trek-lit, started last year with New Frontier, got hooked, my reading list exploded. Now every few months I keep finding new stuff to add and Destiny (and Full Circle) seem to get further away.

In "The Light Fantastic" it Barclay mentioned that Starfleet was unable to duplicate the Doctor's mobile emitter as some of the tech was still years in the future.

Yeah, Starfleet may be unable to duplicate the Doctor's mobile emitter but that doesn't preclude developing a portable emitter with a tiny power source on their own. Maybe it's the original ME's components refusing duplication instead of the basic concept.

Posted my review yesterday of this novel. I generally try to be overly forgiving in my reviews of Trek novels, but there was a lot about this one that bugged me. I rated it below average, I'm afraid.

Then I fear I had my Voyager goggles on when I voted. As it is an older thread I voted just now. I liked the Voyager relaunch, even the books by Christie Golden. Her novels are no match to KMFB's novels, nonetheless....
Homecoming was slightly better than Farther Shore.....

I definitely agree with this part. There were parts of Homecoming that bothered me as well, but I felt like it set up some interesting things that were squandered in The Farther Shore. They're not the worst novels, but definitely wasted potential in my opinion.

At least Homecoming picked up where Endgame left.... But it's not as everyone agrees with Christie Golden's interpretation of events.
