Ah, but Kirby loved blonde male heroes; in addition to co-creating blondes Captain America, Adam Warlock and Thor, there's the aforementioned Eternals, Kamandi, et al. Kirby seemed to love that image as if it represented heroism to him.
That was generally the accepted mold for super-heroes across the industry in those days. I don't think it was specifically a Kirby thing.

I have heard the same but think it's mostly fan theories at this point. Feige and co have said nothing official in regards to the X-Men or Mutants.
It's just a fan theory (I think I saw it on CBR in one of their more click-bait-y articles). Marvel has said nothing officially. In fact, I suspect mutants aren't their primary concern at all, but I wouldn't be shocked if they at least are aware that it's a possibility.

They were a mixed bag. Three of the biggest: Superman, Captain Marvel and Batman, had dark hair.

Along with non-blondes Spider-Man, the Atom, the Hulk, Robin, Wonder Woman, Wolverine, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Iron Man, Dr. Strange and so on. I'm not sure there's another comic creator who produced as many blondes as Kirby.

Kirby has a pretty deep catalog. He may have created more characters than anyone. Hank Pym and Johnny Storm are two more of his blonds. Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Bruce Banner and Tony Stark would be some of his brunettes. Warren Worthington is the only blond in the original X-Men.

There's a disproportionate number of blonds and redheads in comics because of 4-color printing limitations.

But hair color per se isn't the issue. I was just saying, as someone who knew nothing previously about the Eternals, when I read an article about them and saw it was essentially about a race war between a population that conformed to "Aryan" stereotypes of perfection and a population that was literally called "Deviant" because of its so-called genetic imperfection, that gave me a queasy feeling. I'm sure that what it implied to me is the last thing Kirby intended to suggest, but sometimes people accidentally create things that don't go over like they intended.

I don't really think we need a Black Widow movie. There are plenty of new characters that could get a movie and haven't even shown up as supporting yet.

I don't think that we actually "need" any of these movies. However, to my mind, Black Widow is just as legitimate choice to get her own movie as any.

You're right, that came out wrong, but it was more in response to the "overdue" comments.

There's probably 5 characters that should have at least shown up if not have their own movie before Black Widow. I was disappointed she was even in IM2, but I realize I'm not in the majority there. She improved quite a bit, though, and I'm not sorry she's around but not my choice, if you will.

In no particular order, Namor, She-Hulk, Wonder Man, Black Knight, Tigra, Moon Knight, Firebird, Captain Britain, and even Hercules. I would also include Hellcat but she's trapped in Jessica Jones.

I'd like to see Moon Knight and She-Hulk as shows because I think they would be better suited there, especially She-Hulk. Namor and Captain Britain are the only other ones I'm familiar with enough to say anything about, but while I'm interested to see them get their own films, I'm much more interested in seeing Black Widow get her own first. More than anything else, we've been invested with the character for so long that I think it's a shame she's only been a supporting character for others (Iron Man, Cap, Averagers as a whole). That's why I think it's overdue.

Also, I think there are still some weird rights issues going with Namor, although I guess that'll be resolved when the Fox deal is official?

I think the point is, we need more female-led superhero movies, and ScarJo is the biggest female star in the MCU, so she's the most obvious candidate to correct the deficit.

Ant-Man was an original Avenger, and Hank and Janet were prominently involved with the Avengers for years. I'm going with Pym as a B-list character.
