In the sense that they have never existed in Trek before. So, not the adventures of several well-developed TOS guest characters on one ship.

Yes, if it is an interesting crew and exploration mission.

Time to dust off Star Trek: The Beginning. Jim and Spock's grandfathers team up to win the Romulan war!

Or even Star Trek: The Academy Years, with Karl Urban instead of DeForest Kelley as McCoy in the framing story telling cadets the tale (but that would be another Kirk/Spock reboot and not OC's)

To be honest: The main appeal of the Kelvin timeline movies was to see a new iteration of Kirk and Spock. The alternate timeline itself is not that interesting, and in fact only marginally different than the prime universe.

I honestly don't see what would make an original ship & crew in the Kelvin timeline more interesting than the same in the prime timeline, and for the sake of the universe not being split forever, I'd definitely prefer the latter one.

The only reason for an original property set in the Kelvin timeline I see, would be if Paramount and CBS got even further caught up in their rights entanglement - and I'm not hoping for that!

To be able to make a film not limited by current TV projects, to have all the alt reality aesthetic that makes a modern movie good...unless you wanted to Rogue One a TOS-film era movie.

It's a shame Star Trek Beyond didn't do the kind of box office to justify a Franklin show starring Idris Elba. Sure, I have purely selfish reasons here. In that Enterprise characters popping up as guest-stars are an obvious in, and it can be both Prime and Kelvin at the same time. Okay. Somewhat disregarding Simon Pegg's idea that changes happened before and after the Nero incursion... in that I didn't really care for what felt like a glib response that covered up only doing so much ENT episode research. And bluffing the rest from a Memory Alpha article about the M.A.C.O.s. Franklin still manages to fit in fine with the 22nd Century for the most part.

I wouldn't have a problem following a new crew/hero ship set in the Kelvinverse. (I think Discovery works better as a Kelvinverse series than a Prime Universe series.) I think there's a lot of room in the Kelvinverse to explore and I wish we got more books, comics, and television series set in that alternate reality.

I would prefer to see a Sulu/Excelsior series more than a completely new ship and crew, so that it's better to pass the torch. But the To Boldly Go series introduced a version of Captain Terrell that I thought was intriguing and I wouldn't mind seeing a series based around him. Or even some changes to the Endeavor introduced in that comics series, but keeping the Romulan first officer. Same with Yuki Sulu from the comics. Comics have been the best place so far to see the Kelvinverse beyond the films and I think they should provide inspiration-though they likely won't- for any future movies, etc.

I had the notion of a kind of series of side movies ala what Disney tried to do with Star Wars

Constellation: A Star Trek Story could tell the adventures of a Kelvin universe Matt Decker and crew. Or Excelsior, for the obvious spin-off potential of featuring John Cho to link it back to the previous ones.

Would the next logical step not be a Kelvinverse TNG reboot?

Jason Statham as Picard, the Rock as Worf, Megan Fox as Deanna Troi. I'd watch it.

True, but then there's no point at all to the Kelvinverse.

With The Picard Show renewing imterest in Next Gen era Trek, I wouldn't
i was thinking they'd use it as an X-Men: First Class style excuse for a reboot. Or tell a story in those unexplored 3 years before Kirk's Kobayashi Maru.
