On AxaMonitor: Axanar's Alec Peters is being sued for defamation by a Las Vegas prop company after he threatened legal action over the six-figure sale, brokered by the company, of the model of the U.S.S. Enterprise-E from Star Trek: First Contact.

The suit seeks at least $15,000 in damages after Peters allegedly defamed the company, Hero Prop LLP, and one of its owners, in a series of posts in a large Facebook props enthusiasts’ group. Read more »
Oh my God, did I summon you? I forgot to put the pie in the summoning circle.

Okay, I gotta ask:

Didn't LFIM state at one point during the Axasuit that he was a "lawyer by training?" Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't a trained lawyer know how to avoid getting into legal trouble so often? Sued for bankruptcy, sued for infringement, sued for defamation...what, is there some special law class on not getting sued that he cut when he was getting his training?

Or is the method as simple as, to paraphrase Jim Carrey in "Liar, Liar": "STOP TRYING TO BULLSHIT PEOPLE, ASSHOLE!"

What intricate universal truth am I missing here?

Y'know, the transcripts for that trial could be fun to read if they decide to attack the credibility of the defendant... Character witnesses could be interesting, too.

He stated it many times.

Yeah, Job One when you're getting sued, nearly always, is to shut your pie hole and don't make waves.

Truth is, except for posting it on social media (which I still feel was a matter of rather poor judgment), going out for sushi right after getting served was a good idea.

Why? Because in a normal universe, that would have gotten everyone away from the documents and away from doing anything embarrassing. But our constant contact world, plus the insatiable needs of social media for content, and some egos which apparently need to be stroked 24/7, that goes out the window. So instead of a dinner out with friends to take your mind off things and so you won't go off half-cocked turned into a photo op and a truly bad optic which we still talk about today, over a year and a half (coming up on three years, actually) later.

FYI I just checked: December 30 will mark 3 years. How shall we celebrate, folks? There's time enough to plan and, of course, put in for vacation time for the upcoming intergalactic holiday.

Isn't the 3rd anniversary the pie anniversary? If not, it should be. Call Hallmark!

So this is kind of like Happy Peters day?
St Alex
T'was the night before Axanar
Engage in Klingon song
Pass out Sushi to children on the street
Hide Patches in the park for young donors to find
Sell Star Trek Coffee on the street corner

Hallmark doesn't only make Star Trek ornaments!

Someone go kick over whatever rock Rob is hiding under and see if he still has some of that Jameson left.
