DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

Maybe it's why Affleck signed on, knowing there was a definite end to the role.

Dumb idea otherwise.

Who's dead in Marvel comics now?
Who hasn't been? They seem to like killing or depowering characters who get movies. "Thor has a movies coming out....lets make some one else Thor!" "Hulk has a big role in the next movie...let's kill him!"

Ah, yes, the timing if those examples (among others) was very strange, though they're all pretty much back to status quo now (as comics do). But that was quite the rough patch, indeed!

That really confused me too. It seemed like they were purposefully distancing those characters from the movie versions, which strikes as an odd choice to make with the movies being so popular.

Yep, nothing like confusing movie fans who decide to pick up a comic.

Wow, that's an unexpected bit of casting. Not bothered, but still a bit surprised to see someone that old cast as one of the team members. I wonder if she'll be a mentor figure for the younger characters?

She's only 8 months older than Robert Downey, Jr. And she's 10 months younger than Ming-Na Wen of Agents of SHIELD, who's still convincing as a badass fighter.

Affleck getting back in shape. Hopefully it's prepping for the return to Batman.

Affleck wants to do one more Batman movie after seeing what Joaquin's Joker brought to the table

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Joaquin's Joker Affleck enlists the help of Matt Reeves to do one final batman movie

;)

I swear if I have to read the Justice League synopsis one more time starting with "Fueled by......"

That is awesome. From that article it almost sounds like there's a possibility they will ignore the first one. If that is the case I wonder what this will mean for Harley's appearance in Birds of Prey, and whatever other movies she's been rumored for?

SS1 was not nearly as horrible as the buzz suggested. Though there was clear room for improvement, I found it definitely enjoyable. I really don't see anything there story or plot-wise that needs to be ignored.

I don't either, it's my second favorite Worlds of DC movie after Wonder Woman, but that was the impression I got from the article.

I think it was quite poorly executed in a number of ways, but there is definitely nothing that needs ignoring either way. The poor action/visuals, pacing, etc, simply don't matter to the sequel, anyway. The stuff that does matter - primarily the characters - were by far the best part of the film and quite good overall.

The only thing I could really even think of as a candidate to change would be to

a) do a different joker (or I guess just not use the joker), since a lot of people didn't seem to like Leto (and he's hard to work with) - but I actually enjoyed him quite a bit, so, I don't need that personally (not that I'll be massively disappointed if it happens)

or b) do a more comic-accurate version of Deadshot who isn't quite so wholesome and 'noble savage'-esque (Deadshot technically should be the 'I'll shoot my own mother if I have to to get what I need' type. But again, I don't think that's really necessary, because Will Smith was still plenty entertaining even if he was a bit too goody-two shoes. And especially because it is Will Smith (and replacing him is obviously insane), I don't believe for a second it would actually happen, anyway. Comics Deadshot is just too cutthroat for a Will Smith character.
