I know all that.Surely that would've been the case regardless of the quality of the movie, because Marvel Studios doesn't control the license to the character. It was complicated enough to negotiate the deal to share Spider-Man himself.

And yet characters like Aunt May and Ned Leeds have appeared in Marvel Studios movies.
I would love to know exactly what the rules of all of this are. Are there specific characters that only Sony can use, and ones only Marvel can? Can they both pick and choose? Can they use the same ones?
