Troi actually having three breasts is not canon, no. At one point in development of TNG, Roddenberry did actually want her to, though. No joke. It was D.C. Fontana who convinced him to abandon the idea, as she relayed via Entertainment Weekly: "I objected to Troi having three breasts. I felt women have enough trouble with two. And how are you going to line them up? Vertically, horizontally, or what? I was like, please, don't go there. And they didn't, fortunately."That is canon? Not a joke?
It was a dumb blink and you'll miss it sight gag. Not something that would be on screen every time you see a character or species. Probably won't be revisited.Roddenberry wanted Troi to have three breasts, and Ferengi to have massive bulges in their pants.
Everyone around him stopped this from happening.
Akiva Goldsman wanted to show Klingons having two penises.
Nobody around him stopped this from happening.

.
Take that, Broadcast Standards…!But Roddenberry did manage to give Mariette Hartley two belly-buttons in GENESIS II.
Supposedly because her character had a double circulatory system, making her stronger, faster, etc.
The more things change . . . .
Botht the males and the female Ferengi?Roddenberry wanted Troi to have three breasts, and Ferengi to have massive bulges in their pants.

As far as the Klingon peeing two streams goes, I just figure he has prostate issues.
I assume you said this once for each prostate?I think people are overthinking this. Poor Klingon just had an issue with his prostate.

(Haven't reached "Choose Your Pain" yet in your re-watch?)
I was wondering if maybe there was something on your mind...Actually forgot I had commented. Getting old sucks.![]()
I watched a bit of it last night. Didn't notice anything about multiple Klingon penises.
LORCA: [mockingly, to L'Rell] I hear you're seeking solace in the arms of a human male. We don't even have the right number of organs for you. Why so hard-up?
Of course, in pure science fiction terms there's nothing wrong with either idea. In fact, there are creatures right here on Earth who have more than two teats, and also those with bifurcated male reproductive organs.Roddenberry wanted Troi to have three breasts, and Ferengi to have massive bulges in their pants.

Overall I don’t think it does. Personally it just seems a little silly (even for sci-fi...!) but mileage varies obviously. And as you say there’s precedent in earth’s nature for it so why not!How exactly does the present Klingon duality pose similar problems, though?
Can we all just take a second to appreciate the nuance of ‘whipping them out left *and* right’ here please? I love wordplayIt's not like they'll be whipping them out left and right, now, is it?)

Other than not fitting preconceived notions regarding Klingons it really doesn't present any problems, except maybe to slash fic writers. How exactly does the present Klingon duality pose similar problems, though?
One would be an uncomfortable, awkward looking, and distracting prosthesis that would be literally front and center on a main character in every episode, would require specialized costumes, and was only there to tickle Gene's Rodandberries, because bewbs.Roddenberry wanted Troi to have three breasts, and Ferengi to have massive bulges in their pants.

Fitting rather well with some preconceived notions of them, actually.Other than not fitting preconceived notions regarding Klingons it really doesn't present any problems, except maybe to slash fic writers.
...of course, they rather ended up doing that anyway! One would be a ridiculously oversized codpiece on a tiny species that basically looked like big-eared Mini-Me's in that step of the development process (because Goddenberry was obsessed with dicks too) that would make them impossible to take seriously as an adversary.
