Exactly, and TOS Spock hadn't lost pretty much everyone either.Something we've seen Spock do a time or two in TOS.

I understand that, I hope we get to see that eventually too, but I think they were saying Goodbye to Nimoy's Spock with that scene. His health was declining at that point and Quinto and JJ kept Nimoy in the loop on developing Quinto's Spock. Plus in my head Cannon I don't think he gave him details, probably just told him to, like Kirk said, use what he wanted against him.My biggest problem with the film. Nimoy passed the torch in Star Trek (2009), I really wanted to see this Spock be clever on his own.

Spock's bit with the torpedos was way more clever than having a super genius not know space has three dimensions, frankly.I remember sitting there like wtf? Ah no cunning "his pattern indicates two-dimensional thinking" or something clever along those lines. Nah, just hit him over the head.Real genius writing
Reminiscent not so much of Khan's defeat in TWoK as of his defeat at Kirk's hands in "Space Seed," then? Imagine that. While we're talking about parts of ID we didn't like, my own is one I don't see get brought up that much.
That Quinto-Spock asks Nimoy-Spock how did they originally defeat Khan, and it cuts away before he answers. Then at the end of the movie, Quinto-Spock defeats Khan by... chasing him for a bit and then repeatedly bashing him over the head with a spanner or whatever.... and that was it.

You're thinking of Star Trek IV.How can it "hit a snag" when it came out 32 years ago?![]()
I'm noticing that the first link is to an article from three weeks ago. The second is dated today, but does not appear to contain any new information, either. Still speculation.
Producer Adi Shankar (Dredd, The Grey, Lone Survivor) was asked if Star Trek 4 could be made without Chris Pine.
...
“Losing Pine and Kirk is not a big deal and kind of cool,” said Shankar. “Actors don’t matter, stories do.

Can we fire Shankar and offer his salary to Pine?
Haha, oops. I've only seen it twice, once at the cinema and once on Netflix a few years ago. Can't say I even remember that part, but fair enough then, I'll retract that. I do still remember thinking the ending in general was very anti-climatic though.I think you may have taken a bathroom break at a critical moment.
The cunning was Spock taking Khan's crew out of the Torpedoes and stashing them and then arming the bombs and 'Vulcan's can not lie. The Torpedoes are yours.' He didn't expect Khan to survive that. Hence Sulu's 'There's no way he survived,' comment. The rest was just a seriously pissed off Vulcan who had lost too much reverting to his passionate ancestry and when all else fails beating the shit out of him.
He used what Khan wanted (his people) against him when he beamed over the torpedoes. That was the advice Spock Prime gave. They reference it during the Kirk death scene.I think you may have taken a bathroom break at a critical moment.

That's okay as opposed to me who watches it about once every month or two and thinks it gets better with every view. It's my fav Star Trek Film. Just got done watching it again, and I really think it's amazing.Haha, oops. I've only seen it twice, once at the cinema and once on Netflix a few years ago. That was always my read on the scene.Or more likely he just knew his Spock that well because of the stunt he pulled at the start of STID in the volcano.
I'm just going to be blunt and say this.....Pine is a superior actor to Shatner...so, yeah just no...Just give it to Shatner and use Disney’s de-age tech.
Shatner may not be a "great" actor but he was certainly a great leading actor due to his sheer charisma and the swagger he brought to the role. That said, Pine has done a great job of finding his own take on Kirk while retaining the qualities that Shatner brought to the role, especially once the writers dropped that dudebro aspect that I found unappealing in the first film.I'm just going to be blunt and say this.....Pine is a superior actor to Shatner...so, yeah just no...I liked Shatner's Kirk fine for his time, but that just would not mesh at all. If you are actually being serious anyway?
