Should the Picard Show ignore ST-2009 destruction of Romulus?

Should the Picard Show ignore Romulus destination from ST-2009

  • Yes - a nice attempt to tie the reboot to prime, but keep it part of the Kelvinverse future

More importantly, they should ignore the events of "Nemesis."

Last survivor of the human race: Jean-Luc Picard: Borg Hunter.

I honestly have no clue what they're planning on, but I wouldn't be surprised if the show takes place in two time frames: post-Nemesis and his time on the Stargazer. With a younger actor playing Stargazer Picard. With some kind of thread connecting the two time periods.

I've had the same thought. We also don't know what Picard did in the years after the Stargazer was lost and he gained command of the Enterprise.

Eh, in the 24th century Klingons are uneasy allies. That could be IMO way more interesting than "dum bad guys" which seems to be there MO nowadays.

But really, if they return Picard, the only enemy to return that makes sense would be the Borg. Finger's crossed for some new guys, but this is really the one case where I wouldn't be against the Borg returning. But Romulans? Come on... They weren't interesting during TNG, nor in NEMESIS. The only time they were interesting was in TOS and maaaaybe Nero in ST09.
No, it doesn't make sense. I am completely against the Borg ever returning. After the Klingons they are overdone with little of interest to make me want to follow their story again, which isn't saying a whole lot because Picard coming back is not exciting me.

Romulans are largely unexplored and an unknown. Yes, please give me more of them, with Picard working to broker peace with a fractured Romulan Star Empire while working against the darker elements such as the Tal Shiar that would having nothing to do with the Federation. Perhaps even Klingons and Cardassians could come up in trying to encroach on exposed territory and maintain the instability of a former belligerent power.

For me, the Romulans trump both Klingons and Borg, or even Borgified Klingons. Just no more. :wah:

Honestly? I have never found the Romulans all that interesting. *ducks!*

Imagine if the destruction spread out far further than Spock thought and all of post-Next Gen is now a crapsack Mad Max In Space universe.

Where Picard kicks ass and takes names. Call it Star Trek: The Last Generation.

That would be imaginative. I think that is a road too far for the current behind-the-scenes crew.

I'm pretty sure the term "Rihannsu" will never be used in an official Star Trek production.
Hey, Nero's number one in ST'09 was named Ayel. And there was a blatant Spock's World reference in the script, although it never made it to the finished film.

And one of the co-writers of that is now in charge of CBS Trek.
