CBS AA planning a direct Discovery spinoff?

I would love a planet-based series, but I don't think it's likely. Something like Earth2 or Earth: Final Conflict.
Maybe we meet halfway, and have a series where a Federation team is exploring the interior of a Dyson Sphere or other megastructure?
add some Kzin.. and a world shaped.. kind of like a .. ring..
Amazon's developing a Ringworld TV series right now though.
I had no idea. I hope it works out. We'll get Kzin again in SOME sci fi universe.
Really hope it works out. There are a lot of sf books I wanted to see make it to screen and it hasn't always worked out (Riverworld.. ugh.. )
They're also developing a series based on Snow Crash.
My personal wish lists includes a series based upon Tad Williams Otherland series. Plus China Meiville's Bas-Lag novels.
I would like to see Bas Lag, but I hear City and the City did not go over well, so producers may get skittish about Mieville.
I have my doubts if Snow Crash can be done right, but if they make it, I'll watch.
I wanted Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, and I got it. I was happy with that.
Great. Just call it Star Trek: Ringworld, and toss in a few Vulcans, and maybe be a little vague on past details, and we can open up a new forum here.
The spinoff is reported to be about Federation firefighters. The show's name will be "DISCO: Inferno".

Its a possibility if the next season I well received.
If Anson Mount convinces as Pike it could happen, the big question is Spock though and who will play him.
Unless we get Pike and Number One without Spock.

I thought it was excruciating although I am ok with a bit of Klingon here and there but no more.
I think they were going for authenticity with the Klingon speech overkill which I can understand but then they cocked it up with the unrecognisable (alien of the week) Klingon ships and physical appearance.
Can only imagine what it must have been like for anyone who was new to Star Trek.
I thought that Starfleet Academy series talked about a few months back was going to be a direct Disco spin-off?
Nothing besides Picard series has been confirmed. No plot details of ANY series or rumors (including Picard series) have ever been confirmed.

All we really know is that Picard will be back, we don't even know what rank he will be or where he will be based, I am assuming either Admiral or Commandant of the Academy.
We don't even know how much he will be in it either.
Nick Meyer is also working on something that hasn't been announced.

My theory about the Picard series is that it will focus on his adventures aboard....
