Klingon change for season 2?

My hope isn't that they redesign the existing Klingons, just that they finally plump out their ranks with variations. And hair. :)

A complete do-over would pretty much admit they fucked up the first time.

As he says ‘GOING INTO season 2’, he might mean that they change gradually..? I’m really hoping for an Augment reference somewhere.. that the Klingons have been messing with their DNA for decades to get their ridges back, resulting in DSC era Klingons....

I wonder if the House of Mo'kai are going to do something that forces genetic changes on the klingon species as a whole. Perhaps they use the augment virus with a few variations and test it on a province on Qo'nos. It gets out of hand and starts rapidly mutating the rest of the population?

Okay, if the Klingons get redesigned again for season two I might have to jump boat and join the "DSC isn't prime" team :D

I can totally live with season 1 (and 2) of DIS being "semi-canon" like TAS.

Like an early draft, which in it's broad strokes definitely "counts", but not every single detail being "canon". Like TOS s1's "lithium crystals", "James R. Kirk", "timewarp factor" and the Enterprise being part of "UESPA", or later the Tom Paris/Nick Locarno conundrum I would absolutely gladly put most of the klingon starship designs, Kronos being blow-uppable with a single handheld bomb, time crystals, the Federation absolutely getting pummeled in a war with the klingons and a whole lot of other stuff in the "semi-canon" box, where the stories definitely count, but the details not so much.

Of course all given the assumption that future iterations of DIS one day will fit with prime canon, which - despite the creators insistence on it - is not exactly given at this point.

Some hair/beards, and a long session in the tanning booth, would go a long way towards reaching the TMP Klingon look, which I guess I'm willing to settle for at this point since "We're not in the 1960's anymore!"

I'm more wanting to see a complete 'scrap everything & start-over' on the Klingon ships than the Klingons themselves, tbh.

Not even the biggest of DSC apologists thought the Klingon prosthetics looked good. While I personally really did like some of them (like general Kol), the others looked over the top and crappy, especially L'rell.

It seems to me that CBS listened and S2 is about do to some serious maintenance.
I wish they would just move away from the Klingons. Seriously, because it is Star Trek doesn't mean Klingons have to be in every single iteration.
They didn't set up the whole L'rell/Tyler dynamic to just drop it.

I hope they just give them some hair and tone down the makeup a bit, especially the elongated craniums and the weird nostril thing. And no explanations! Just do it.

Is there any news/discussion/data point/trailer/tweet that comes out that doesn't almost immediately devolve into a "prime / canon or not" discussion? I don't really mind, I'm glad you all are enjoying it. I'm just asking for a weird friend who thinks it's an inane, overdone, repetitious, circular, irritating, and wasteful pursuit.
