There's a very cleverly titled book coming out, "Asguardians of the Galaxy".
It doesn't have to stop at Thor or Angela! Like Avengers, anybody can be part of the team. The only difference is it's cosmic.
Personally, I think they have a perfect reason now to go with Infinity Watch.

Of course . Does anyone believe all the heroes are dead? The comics showed pretty much all alive after thanos was defeated. So yeah they are all coming back.
Literally all, if I am not mistaken. Warlock resetted things to three days ago, before Thanos killed half the universe.

Some of the heroes will be dead, or the survivors will sacrifice themselves to do the revival. IW isn't going to end with everyone A-Okay.
Why would that make any more sense than just using the cast that is contractually obligated to be there?
Because they might not want to do the movie and a contract is no sure bet. If you got a good agent or you have enough leverage it's possible to get out of those things. Also if they are relucant to do the movie that is something any future director will know about and might not want to get involved if he or she thinks the cast is going to be hard to work with. Two of the worst movies are connected to actors who were very unhappy and that would be Ed Norton from "Hulk" and Natile Portman from the second Thor movie and lets not forget Joss Whedon on "Age of Ultron" was unhappy and that movie is also flawed.

Exactly, we're dealing with people, not characters drawn on a page. I remember Damon Lindeloff once humorously commenting on realizing this on Lost when they killed off a character with plans to bring them back but the actor was all "no thanks".
None of them are such big stars to have leverage. None of them would risk walking away from Disney, especially since they will also own FOX. None of them will walk away, because they are professionals and wouldn’t want to fuck up that reputation. None of them will walk away because they would lose a lot of money. They have a lot more to lose than you think. It’s easy for you to have principles because you don’t have skin in the game.
I hope Disney reinstates James Gunn. My understanding is the comments were made 8+ years ago and even before this all came to light he began bettering himself. He has also taken full responsibility. To further punish him just seems excessive.
Disney protects The Mouse. The Mouse is Disney's core, its identity. Anything that looks like a threat to the brand, The Mouse, is done. Over. Fini. Anything that is a stain on the family friendly identity of Disney must be eradicated.

I bet Gunn might not have even been fired if the Fox merger wasn't still in the works. I'm sure they would be willing to toss the entire MCU away to make sure that happens. Disney isn't going to let Gunn get in their way of eventually owning everything in show business.

Although the cast wrote a very nice letter to Disney, it is true that none of them threatened to resign.
You keep telling the same joke to new people, if the last people you told that joke to laughed.
If you get yelled at for an hour about how rape is not funny, that also retires the joke.
Doubtful. As others have reiterated, Disney's first priority is the Mouse and they'll protect it all the way to firing many people. In this day and age of hovering scrutiny it is attention that Disney clearly wants to avoid. One merely needs to look at the Urban Meyer/Ohio State mess to get how seriously organizations are treating these kinds of situations that will look badly on the organization.
