That's easy. Time-traveling, Borg enhanced Tilly from the 35th century will be in the premiere episode.
Good. To me that just means they're doing something different.the nerd rage will be intense
I'm curious how they plan to depict the turn of the 25th century as more advanced than their version of the mid-23rd, which is already miles ahead of Next Gen or the Next Gen movies.
I'm talking holograms, holographic glass screens and whatnot. The Enterprise-E didn't have those. Voyager's holograms were limited to sickbay and the holodeck.Too late at night for me to be asking this, and I have a splitting headache, so I'll just drop the question and check back tomorrow, but...
... In what ways is DSC's technology "miles ahead" of TNG's? Don't say the Spore Drive. Besides that.
I always thought the differences between the 23rd and 24th Century were exaggerated to begin with but, at the same time, DSC has yet to have the super-technobabbly stuff of TNG or VOY.
A holo phone call is probably different than an actual semi-sentient holo-character that someone can interact with and touch.I'm talking holograms, holographic glass screens and whatnot. The Enterprise-E didn't have those. Voyager's holograms were limited to sickbay and the holodeck.
How do you make your Picard show look like it's set 150 years further in the future when you've already retconned far more advanced stuff into the mid-23rd century?

Pretty much is - "this is what happened to Picard from TNG" is kind of what a sequel is. Same way Logan was a sequel to his previous appearances as Professor X.And it's not a TNG sequel so squash that right now.
