Wonderwoman Pregnant

Johnny7oak

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Did wonder woman conceive a child with Christopher Pine's character in the movie "Wonder woman"?

Can Amazons even get pregnant? Aren't they all either Greek goddesses or created out of clay and subsequently have life breathed into them? Since their society detests men, and they don't reproduce in the typical fashion, why would Queen Hippolyta have created a reproductive system for her daughter?

The molded from clay thing was dropped from continuity some time ago. And the movie made it clear that Diana was the daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta, presumably conceived in more or less the usual manner. (Although with Zeus . . who knows? Showers of gold and horny swans are not without precedent.) :)

The movie still mentioned the sculpted from clay thing:

Steve Trevor: Have you never met a man before? What about your father?
Diana Prince: I had no father. My mother sculpted me from clay and I was brought to life by Zeus.
Steve Trevor: Well, that's neat... Where I come from, babies are made differently.

Of course, maybe that was just how Diana's mom avoided giving her "The Talk", letting her teachers deal with it in Sex Ed. ;)

Yes, but the movie made it clear that this was just a story Hippolyta invented to hide Diana's true origins from her.

"She must never find out who she truly is," etc.

I thought that was just about not letting Diana find out that she was the actual Godkiller, because Hippolyta didn't want her to face Ares?

I don't know, it's been a while since I've seen the movie.

No, they need the ideas, all the ideas they can get

No, they really don't. But hey, thanks for the offer.

because they somehow made people hate super hero movies.

Altogether Warners has made billions on these movies. Apparently, some people hate super hero movies.

*Hating modern super hero movies is not a trick - either a basic respect for story logic or a gnawing craving for innovation will do. Failing that, an enlarged prostate will make them unbearable.

Language Greg !

It's not obscene if it's classical. :)

Getting back to the clay thing, we have to remember that Diana does not have all the facts when she tells Steve that, and, in fact, is sorely mistaken on several fronts. She thinks that if she kills Ares, the war will instantly end. She spends much of the movie convinced that the German general is Ares. She believes without question what her mother told her about her creation, including the clay sculpture thing, whereas she actually turns out to be the daughter of Zeus.

In short, anything Diana says early on cannot be taken at face value because much has been kept from her and she still has some tough lessons to learn . . .

Depends on the origin used. They have mortal women who lived on magical island which effectively stops them from aging. They've also been women who were killed by men and reincarnated as Amazon warriors. Hippolyte is the daughter of Ares in some versiosn, so she is a demigod. Other Amazons do not have a divine background.

People hate shitty movies, DC makes shit movies. And I love your gaslighting bullshit of how the movies have made billions. Must only be in your head...

Title of article.... 'Warner Bros. Faces A Possible $50M To $100M Loss On 'Justice League''

BUT IT MADE BILLION!!!!!!:ack:
Well, that's a pretty manipulative read and misrepresentation of his post for someone who is using the term "gaslighting" over a comic book movie box office debate.

What part of "Warners has made billions on these movies", plural, did you not understand? It doesn't mean the individual movie has to make over a billion, just that the DCEU as a whole has made billions at the box office so far, and it has, regardless of what one thinks of the quality of the films.

They've made a worldwide box office tally of $3,759,710,197 off a production budget of $1,100,000,000, leaving a profit of $2,659,710,197. I'm pretty sure $2.65 billion counts as "making billions." Which is not to say they've all performed up to expectations and doesn't get into the weeds on marketing and distribution costs and home video/On Demand/broadcast sales and all that other minutiae which can take time to fully sort out, but it's clear the franchise has still made a metric fuckton of money in spite of mixed reviews.

Sigh....

I guess we don't take into account the hundreds of millions in marketing per movie. :brickwall:
Sigh....

I guess we don't read the part of the post where I clearly mentioned that there would be additional marketing costs. Maybe all that banging your head into a wall for no reason made you miss it?

"Which is not to say they've all performed up to expectations and doesn't get into the weeds on marketing and distribution costs..."

But that still doesn't change the fact that the DCEU films as a whole have made "billions of dollars."
