General Trek Questions and Observations

William T. Riker is just a mix of of Kirk and Decker, in name and character.
Troi, Data & Worf are all just split up aspects of Spock's character, Troi the telepathy, Data the emotionlessness, & Worf the strange alien culture

I've never cared for the painting in Spock's quarters from The Undiscovered Country.

As I understand it, Leonard Nimoy found that tapestry of the Vulcan IDIC from STAR TREK II to be very tacky and cheesy and didn't like it, at all. And yet ... Marc Chagall's childish-looking Adam et Eve Chasses du Paradis in a tacky frame isn't cheesy? Even preferable? OH! But it helps tie-in, so Spock can say, "it is a reminder to me that all things end" all sage-like and everything. Well, yeah, but ...

I agree. It’s forced. Nothing subtle about it.

While we're on the subject of art, the sculpture that Worf has in his quarters of the two Klingons locked in a battle to the death is pretty awesome.

It is reminiscent of Ancient Greek sculptures of mythical figures like Hercules vs. anyone or Gilgamesh vs. Enkidu.

I think it thinned on the sides in the front. He grew his hair out again, instead of having it super-short like he had it for a while, and has parted that grown-out hair to the side, to cover up where it was balding. So I think it looks like he has more hair because of the way he styled it.

You may be right. It also looks like he's coloured it, where it lets the grey show though. I don't understand why he'd be bothering to improve his appearance NOW, when for so long he acted like he couldn't give a shit less about the way he looked. Were I a celeb, I'd be doing everything I could to keep up appearances, even if I'd ended up producing and directing. It just doesn't make sense to let yourself go, when you've got the means to improve yourself.

SO cockroaches are expected to live through the nuclear holocaust. Cochrene-ian of a society? A couple of scientists and a bunch of cockroaches. Maybe it was a code name... Zephrim is the end of an era.... or dawn of one with a nuclear holocaust.... Zephrim of Cockroach-ian society. He'd toast probably on that

Nah that looks like real hair, but I will say this. Dude needs to go one size up on spectacle frames. Those look like a toddler's on him

Picard is basically a French form of Pike.

Yes, I've always thought that and Riker is a Kirk with an e and an extra r plus the characters are very similar! I always found it odd that Riker never really got to meet Kirk or anyone else from the original Enterprise save for Scotty and I don't think he had much to do with him did he!

But how robust will those cockroaches be, after the Holocaust?

Holy SHAT!!! He's probably getting his look together for this TNG continuation, or reboot, or whatever the balls they're coming up with, next! You know, he's stated emphatically that as long as the part of Riker's offered to him, he will always take it. He won't turn it down. I love what he did on the series and with the movies, but ... not this. No, this is a bad sign.
