Eh, the whole alpha/beta wolves thing has been debunked, by the people who published the original study no less. But yeah, generally it makes sense if the people who are working on a project "know their place" relative to the person in charge.
Making Lando a prominent role or making him pansexual? I haven't seen the movie (gee, I feel like I'm only debating on stuff that I'm technicalyl unqualified to talk about) but the only objection I saw to Lando being pan is that it wasn't enough in the movie and only queerbating on the part of the producers.
Was that even in Solo?

The odds of Episode IX "doing well" while continuing the sort of deconstructivist tone of The Last Jedi is slim to none. So the fan backlash in that instance would likely take the heat off of SW as a whole will still viewing TLJ in the negative.

The same problem as gay Sulu. It was an attempt to retcon a character to pander to the social justice crowd. But in Solo's case it was even worse because the actual film doesn't really say Lando is pansexual so the assertion was manufactured by Kasdan's son as a sort of soapbox publicity stunt. It suggests he has more of a robot fetish than gay tendencies, which I guess is enough of a character deconstruct in and of itself.

Well, I don't see any problem with the concept of either of these two characters being lgbt characters, even though I found the execution lacking t´in the case of Sulu. From what I gather this retcon doesn't particularly change anything about Lando from the other movies he appeared in.

That's the thing-it changes nothing from previously established films. It simply expands upon characters who had had limited, or not as much screen time or exposition.
While there are some complaints, I don't see what it takes away from either character or story.

Pansexual doesn't imply that someone has gay tendencies and it didn't really seem like a fetish given that he actually cared for her. Men with a fetish don't generally care for the person that gives them that outlet, they're purely a sexual object to them with no emotional investment.

Yeah. He didn't provide any evidence for the claim the last few times he was called out on it and asked to. The claim that Howard did any such thing (blaming Solo's failure on TLJ "poisoning the well") is a straight-up fabrication.

I'm a white hetero male, and I love that they are diversifying the SW a bit more. Anybody who has a problem with women, minorities or LGBT characters in franchises like SW needs to accept the fact that world is made of more than white straight men, and just shut the hell up. For a long time women and non-whites have had to sit back while people who were nothing like them got all of the attention, I'm happy for them that is changing. I've seen tons of stories from minority and women fans talking about how much they love finally seeing people they can really relate to as the heroes.
I really have never understood why it matters to people like you what color the characters skin, if they have a penis or vagina, or who they like to have sex with.
And just because we do have people whose skin isn't white and people who's naughty bits go in instead of out, doesn't mean that's an attack on people who's skin is white and who's naughty bits go out.

It was just a bit of character development for a character who hadn't really gotten much development before now. Sometimes movies will just add a few elements that might not directly impact the plot, but build the characters a bit, that was what the stuff with Lando was. It also sounds like you're mixing up Solo and The Last Jedi, because Canto and The First Order were in TLJ but not in Solo.
