All that proves is that a bunch of losers used online voting to attack a movie they didn't like for stupid reasons. Something they openly admitted to doing and bragged about it. It's not proof of how mass audiences felt, it's proof that these people have no lives.

Yup, they do a pretty piss poor job when they publically announce a campaign to downvote a film before it's release so they have time to organise. This is at least the second or third one along with Black Panther that was nerdbashed by the same crowd of manbabies.

The movie was a success, it's popular, profitable, will lead to an Episode 9 that continues right on after it in the same manner.

And if the goal was to destroy whitey, which hell, I don't see the actual issue with, then Obi-Wan would be one of the biggest targets. He's still a pivotal character in the mythos and was about to have his own movie with Ewan that I would have loved to see, before these idiots shit the bed over Luke not slaughtering half the galaxy robothandidly for two hours.

And how is 3 out of the 4 spin off movies revolving around men "man-hating" for christ sake?

ORLY? Ron Howard is already excusing Solo's failure on the basis of Last Jedi poisoning the well. So maybe the FULL damage hasn't been tallied up, but the PARTIAL damage is, perhaps enough to officially send Kathleen Kennedy packing.

Please provide evidence to what you suggest. If its Ron Howard's response to a tweet which suggests that, I've already debunked it several times. He never ONCE mentions TLJ by name. He never puts blame on anything. He merely suggests regret that the film is not being seen as it should.

I hardly doubt that. Kathleen Kennedy wears the pants over there. Any male POV particularly white, would fall on deaf and angry ears. The EU however did take that route, so it's not my idea.

If TLJ had failed I might think you had a point.


It was one of the most successful films of all time and the fanbase really isn't divided. Funnily enough I'm a white male, but I'm mature enough to grasp the implications of that without having a tantrum and abusing people every time someone tries to redress the balance.

Happily given the astronomic success of TLJ it seems the majority agree. That Solo, a film focusing on a known white male character, failed is not indicative of any failings on the part of the previous massively successful movies.

You present a nice example of convoluted reasoning. Did TLJ make money? Sure.
Was it a success? That is subjective. If money is the only indicator, then yes. If critical acclaim , Then yes. If measured by fan feedback, the people who bought those tickets? Then No. People get duped into buying junk all the time. Then regret it later. So TLJ led to the Solo numbers, not to mention the whole controversy behind the scenes, horrible casting, pansexual lando debocile and the annoying "woke" female robot. There's a lot to unpack as to why solo failed. A portion of it is related directly to TLJ. So I think to pretend it didn't have an impact is being disingenuous and ignorant to reality.
