What about the Duras sisters? From their costumes in TNG and DS9 they quite obviously didn’t have scales on their... um... unmentionables like we saw when L’Rell and AshVoq were canoodling. I can’t even
in his best Sir David Attenborough:

Klingon evolution is complicated by a variety of specializations caused by Kronos' turbulent seasonal changes, budgets, and developer whims. Lack of chesticle scalular development causes attraction from what Starfleet scientists call the "Uno-Peener" variety Klingon mate, also identifiable by hair or eyepatch while those with scales use the olfactory glands in the pits in the back of their skull to search out a fine peaty-smelling pheromone from their own preferred kind. The female then travels 50 billion miles to a small rocky island in the ocean to lay her eggs.

He's coming back, but as himself and it's a one-hour PSA on why DSC is canon. It'll get the lowest ratings in Trek history ever and single-handedly bring the the third dark age of TV Trek.

This may be the best thing I’ve ever read

Fans of the Universal Monsters sure won when Alex Kurtzman got hired for for the Dark Universe

It's a poorly executed badly thought out franchise. I'm not surprised it failed. Kurtzman won't be the EP of all the shows. Someone will be the Ira Behr figure and give us good Trek. As someone already said in this thread, the law of averages means at least one of these shows has to be good. I just want one I love. The rest is a bonus or easily forgotten if I dont like it.

I can't think of a single trek season, let alone series, I would say had good levels of quality control. As I said, Trek has always been about a strange mixture of the excellent, bland, and friggin terrible.

This is what worries me. Having seen Hawaii 5-0 as well i worry that Star Trek is going to end up as bland and formulaic as that. However I should probably check out one of the NCISes to see what all the fuss is about. I’m quite happy with the Arrowverse so maybe the NCISverse isn’t much different?
NCIS (the original) is among one of my favorite shows. While it has a formula, as most police procedurals do, there are some interesting character moments that build upon each other through out. I think that Tony (the womanizer agent) goes through an interesting character arc. I haven't looked to see if someone has done an "arc list" and avoiding the filler, but I enjoy NCIS and am looking at New Orleans next :)

The rest is a bonus or easily forgotten if I dont like it.
Well, I do like this attitude. I don't see why there is so much hand wringing over this news.

That was then. This is now where everything must be perfect!!!!!!!!! ;)

For the record my favorite show is Mad Men. I put it way above Discovery, no matter how much I like DSC. Don Draper didn't want to work for McCann because McCann is a sausage factory. McCann also makes or made Coca-Cola commercials -- they fictitiously even have Betty Draper in one -- and I love Coke commercials. They even end the show with one.
A Coke commercial conceived by Draper; one for the ages.

After Enterprise ended in 2005, everyting was doom and gloom for Star Trek fans for many years and now we're finally going back to the golden Berman years.

I find it exciting and fascinating!
and, to read this board, everything is doom and gloom now.
