Definite New Series/Limited Series with Patrick Stewart Returning

I have heard that Stewart has voiced interest in a return.

Yep. I don't know where people are coming from suggesting Stewart would turn it down. He already said he'd be willing to work on the Tarantino film or Discovery Season 2 if asked.

I suspect if Spiner returns at some point they'd only save him for a few select scenes, utilizing deaging tech for whenever he's around. I remember first watching NEMESIS and theaters and when we got the first shot of Data at the wedding that Spiner's age was becoming very hard to hide.

Honestly, the major problem Spiner had as time wore on is he got kinda fat, which Data shouldn't have done. If he had stayed trim, I don't think people would have noticed.

1) I've seen him recently and he's not even close to fat 2) if he was, he could loose weight.

I don't see Stewart wanting to do 10-13 episodes of a TV show. He's 77 years old and doesn't need the money. I imagine he's been offered some kind of guest spot similar to what he did for DS9 or what Kelley did for TNG. Or maybe he's just a recurring character. This is all probably 2+ years away anyway, so I'll believe it when I see it.

I also know it won't take away my enjoyment of some of the novels post Nemesis, but I really don't want that whole house of cards to come crashing down if they go with something radically different for Picard's future. He belongs on the Enterprise.

He may have been wearing a girdle like Frakes. His face is notably heavier than when he was on TNG however. Just normal middle-age "filling out" but since Data shouldn't have changed physical form, it was noticeable.
Yes he has gained a little in the last 30 years, but hardly what anyone should call fat

Hopefully not an elderly Picard show.Patrick’s performance in
‘Logan’ left me feeling a little misty-eyed.:weep:

Time is the fire in which we all burn...indeed.

Who cares if Picard looks old. People age and get old. It's part of life. Granted I don't think he would work as a action hero on the show but then again Picard was never truly a action hero to begin with. I also think he might would come back. Not only has he expressed interests in doing Tarantino movie but he had those remarks about doing "Discovery" that made people think he might do that show.

@ITDUDE posted this in another thread.

He is 77, but is still working full time for what I can tell on both stage and screen.
Why not just combine the Picard idea and the Academy idea into one idea? Make Picard in charge of Starfleet Academy and then focus on some cadets. I kind of prefer actually if they took a more "Lower Decks" idea and split the focus on Picard and some instructors, at least one might also be a character we already know, and 4 or 5 cadets on some Req Squad type of unit.

Perhaps all five rumoured series are actually just one series ;). An animated series which focus on Picard as commandant of Starfleet Academy. In the first episode one of the students clones Khan in the school lab for a joke, things go badly wrong. This stuff writes itself.

Maybe it's going to be about young Picard on the Stargazer with Stewart functioning as a narrator, talking to Starfleet cadets about his old adventures. Some kind of anthology series.
