McFarlane phaser replica scrapped

FYI my preorder in Canada was never cancelled, for whatever that's worth (and I struggled mightily with spending $50 on a toy to begin with, but this thing looks awesome).

Is there a release date attached to the pre-order?

I had a pre-order for the TSFS phaser from an on-line shop and after a long, long time I eventually realized it wasn't ever going to be "in stock," cancelled the order, and got it from Amazon, where it had actually been released in the meantime. Sometimes these things get weird.

sad that this product was cancelled due to stupid toy gun laws...

Those laws have been around for a while and other companies have done just fine. McFarlane must have missed something vital about them to have to halt production.

You can link it.

But I already did.

They claim they don't want to ruin the integrity of the design.

No kid viewers.
Making a return off us middle aged dudes cramming ourselves into a spangly uniform is in the hands of ‘collectors’ items makers, toys just won’t cut it. And the biggest problem with the Disco prop is it looks more like a gun than any other phaser in Trek history. A toy is just bad press waiting to happen. Stick the orange on it...sure...but cosplayers are already gonna be printing and hand making or buying full on replicas...and no kid in the golden age for toys is watching Disco, cos it’s such a ‘mature’ series.
It’s just a different world now. Cowboys and Indians doesn’t get played in the parks for so many reasons, and Harry Potter and Doctor Who are about the only harbours for wavey pointy at the enemy things that might, might, not get an armed response team.
BladeRunner 2049 had a Ltd release with a replica handgun....and that was glued to a display base.
Let’s call it another argument for a post nemesis series....no one calls the SWAT teams for someone looking like they might be abaoit to hoover a car or defuzz your cardigan at range.
