What happened to the alien in Voyager's brig? Did her fellow researchers beam her off when Voyager was headed into the binary pulsars? Was she given to the intergalactic police? Did she spend the rest of the voyage in the brig?

Good question. Helped removed the tags then turned over? beamed off when their shields were weak (so typical in the reverse)

Didn't they show the ships breaking off and leaving? I'm assuming they beamed.the one out of the brig.

From the end of the episode:
Captain's log, stardate 51244.3. With the aliens gone, the Doctor has been able to remove their devices from the crew and neutralise the genetic tags.

The brig wasn't properly shielded from the nucleonic omicron particles emanated by the neutron stars during their close pass, so it was thoroughly ... sterilised of all organic materials.

Janeway didn't do it on purpose (she simply forgot the alien was there) but she thought it was a interesting scientific experiment when she heard about the result afterwards.

Takar just "disappared" from Voyager; maybe the rest of them did as well (incl. the one in the brig) esp after one of their ships was torn apart by the pulsar... ?

I still secretly hope she taught him how because I got tired of the doctor having all the answers. Okay that's a bit of a stretch. He did consult a Cardassian Hologram ;) but you can imagine my slight annoyance.

Yeah i understand that. But once they were aware of the tags and could see them it was probably much easier to remove everything

I totally get what you're saying about characters that can do it all. That's actually why I don't love Jadzia.

@Sophie74656 I just realized how frequently I skip the last minute or so of the show! Captains Log:
"and I don't need to see this part...again." As if I have more important places to be.

And that's no longer smart as time has desolved my memory of certain events. It doesn't lend much credibility to my replies.
Now I know how Kate feels when people ask questions and she's like "ehhh, you assume we remember."
You spend 22 hours a day on set! *pauses* Oh wait...I get it... :D

Lol, sometimes there's some wrap up or comment at the end that adds a lot ;)

I guess I like the "beamed out " onto their ship solution.

I liked the poetic justice of one of their ships blowing up.

Ouch! Forgotten already? You were just down ther
They kept her in the brig, unseen for the rest of the series. She didn't have much to do for the next year or so but that changed when they made her the primary caregiver for the Borg baby that they picked up in "Collective." :D

BTW, I was a bit annoyed when the Doctor talked about Chakotay's rapid aging as if the Star Trek universe doesn't already have 3 other examples of this! Kirk, Spock, McCoy, & Scotty all contracted a rapid aging virus in "The Deadly Years." Dr. Pulaski contracted a virus with similar effects in "Unnatural Selection." And Counselor Troi got old and cougar-y when she was under the influence of some nefarious telepath in "Man of the People."

She should consider herself damn lucky that the Federation no longer has a death penalty.

Although I admit I wouldn't exactly lose any sleep if her people's actions were construed as war crimes (which they certainly could be) and she was treated accordingly. Especially since one of the Voyager crew DIED because of them.
