Would anybody be interested in participating in an episode a week of Enterprise watch and discussion thread? I am going to start watching Enterprise, one episode a week, and thought it would be fun to do it with other members kind of like a book club. Each week would have one episode devoted to it, starting with episode 1, and going through the entire series. During the week we would watch on our own the episode and discuss our thoughts, observations, opinion, etc. On it.

We are doing this in the Star Trek TOS page and it has been pretty active and fun. I think it is more fun to watch this when you can discuss it with others. Anybody interested?

Also, are there any good reference or companion books, outside of this great website that are available for Enterprise?

There are articles of the best and worst Enterprise episodes on the internet but not really any reference books for Enterprise.

Welcome to the Enterprise forum, Archivist13!

What a cool idea! You motivate me to break out the shows and revisit them. Is this your first time watching ENT?

I look forward to your comments. :)

    Hi,
I`m also new here, just signed up. I think it`s a great idea to re-watch a TV series in the way it originally aired, one ep per week. Admittedly I did not like the idea of a prequel show back in the early Naughties and stopped watching ENT at some point before season 3, can`t remember. It felt too much like the new Bush era to me if you know what I mean, a "coalition of the willing in space", together with a handful of logical flaws (like the all too convenient universal translator). It wasn`t until I got my hands on a shiny new Bluray box that I kinda re-discovered this series - and it got me hooked, especially the TnT ship. Today it`s actually one of my favorite trek shows! How perceptions of beauty change over time...

Really looking forward to this thread.

A good place to listen about reviews and discussions about Enterprise is Trek.fms Warp five podcast they really go in depth with the episodes and the host have done a rewatch of the first 3 seasons and the first few season four episodes. You may enjoy the interviews with the tv witers David A.Good man and Phyllis strong .Theiy have their entire podcast list of all the Enterprise podcasts on their website, I listen to it every time they have a new show released weekly on Fridays. Over a 100 so far.I hope this will help with your Enterprise rewatch.

Interesting concept, but a big time commitment. Those that have watched these episodes could chime it if appropriate I assume. I'll keep an eye out for this thread and hope everyone comes away with an appreciation for ST-ENT!

I love this, and I'm so totally 100% committed to seeing this through to the end that I'm confident I'll make it to "Terra Nova" before I fall off the wagon. Just like my gobefores.

Oh, and I liked Weyoun 7's post. So remember, your first like came from ThankQ. Many wish they could say that.

Awesome! I did watch the first season I while back when it was first released on blu ray. I meant to watch all of the seasons since I bought them but I guess I distracted and didn't return to them. I really enjoyed the first season though. I thought this would be a good way to help me commit to watching them all. Nobody else I know cares about Star Trek, and I think it is more fun to watch stuff when you can have a conversation about it, so I thought maybe this would be a good way!

    Of course!

    Ha! Were here for ya!

I obviously really love that episode! LOL Just a typo. I will post an updated schedule. We will spend two weeks on Broken Bow since it is essentially a two parter and also allow more folks to find the thread.

    Broken Bow

A couple things about me before I go into my impression of this episode. My Star Trek experience is having seen the first season of Enterprise a couple years ago and the first 4 episodes of TOS. So as you can see, despite being 41 years old I am new to the series. As a result I don't really have the deep knowledge that many folks here have. In other words if I make a comment or ask a question that seem obvious that is probably why. I am watching both TOS and Enterprise concurrently right now.

I really liked Broken Bow. I really hate the opening theme song.
Why do the Star Trek shows always end up on obscure cable channels? I believe this was originally on UPN? With the built in fan base it seems like a major network would pick these shows up and have them in prime time.

Scott Bakula is an excellent leader and the rest of the cast seem spot on.

I am not a fan of CGI. I prefer practical effects even if they look hokey. Saying that I do think the CGI of the Suliban was very good. I am going to be more forgiving and tolerant of the CGI in Star Trek though because I know they are trying to be futuristic and use the latest technology.

I appreciated the way that the very first episode incorporated the Vulcans, humans, and the Klingons in a meaningful way. Although I don't know much about the Klingon at this point, I do know that they play in important part in Star Trek.

I'm sure I will think of more but I'll leave this here for now.

Enjoy the experience! I pledged to watching all Star Trek tv episodes and movies in Old Earth date order this year. I am up to ENT Home at the moment, so too far ahead of your schedule. I enjoyed ENT the first time it came on, so happy to take it all in again on Netflix.

Yes. Happy to have you. So far I am the only one who has posted anything on the show but we have until Sunday to discuss Broken Bow before the next episode is up.

Broken Bow - How did the Klingons find out about Earth?
The farmer had a phaser weapon, so does the US law about the right to bear arms still exist under UE law or was it amended after projectile weapons became obsolete (yeah I am going there)
The Vulcan policy to hold back humans for 90 years, right or wrong? I say right based on how humans historically treat people who are different.

Not sure how they found out about Earth, but being it was a scout ship perhaps the Klingons were during reconnaissance work.

Unfortunately, probably right. Humans can be rash and anxious. The Vulcans were probably concerned about this and wanted human space exploration to advance in a logical manner?
