Bolian Lifespan

Captain Clark Terrell

Commodore
Commodore
Star Trek features several species with long lifespans (Vulcans, Romulans and Klingons, for example), but I’m not sure if the average Bolian lifespan has ever been stated on screen. Does anyone have any information about this? Thanks!

Discovery takes place in an alternate reality and doesn't impact on the Prime Universe

What does that have to do with what we're talking about?

You've made it pretty clear you don't like DSC. That's fine.

But please don't bring it in to unrelated threads.

Thanks.

Rixx looks unlike any other Bolian we’ve seen on screen. He may likely be of a rare ethnicity and/or advanced age.

Still no evidence of agelessness, as that would kinda reconceptualize their entire species.
They're certainly not completely ageless, that same DS9 episode did show Bolian children. Still, you're right that we've never seen an elderly Bolian. Unless Rixx's unique appearance is what elderly Bolians look like.

It would be interesting to see a biologically immortal species (i.e. one that stops aging after a certain point, like jellyfish). In the real world, these creatures often die from being killed in the wild, as well as natural diseases or cancers. In Star Trek, a sentient species that has wiped out aging could last a looong time because of diseases being very well under control. We may even see such beings with the Cheronians and Platonians in TOS.

Probably not Bolians though, since they have digestive issues. Bolian life expectancy might be 500 or it might be 15. We have very limited information.
