Agents of SHIELD season 5

Sorry I am very behind on this show, but have they revealed how/if they will address the ending of Infinity War?

They've made two verbal references to the film so far, name checking New York and Thanos.
Best guess is the show is at about concurrent with the battle in Wakanda with two episodes left.

Graviton looks so much like a Superman villain.
Also, speaking as which... no Zod reference from Coulson? I’m disappointed.

Not uprising - Zod's DC, Coulson's Marvel and never the twain shall met
Marvel have never been shy mentioning DC. There’s been many references, even after the Disney takeover when they are referenced.
It’s the other way round which is rarer.

The irony of Catherine Dent from The Shield being on Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. is funny. :)

Also, Catherine is a f**king Traitor!

She was on Arrow last week. ;)

Oh, the Arrowverse DC shows reference Marvel all the time. The "Crisis on Earth-X" crossover event had multiple Marvel nods, from Stein trying to give Jax spider powers to the Atom "embiggening" his hand Ms. Marvel-style.

That’s true but I was referring to the comics.
They have been making their fair share of marvel references in the Arrow shows but only fairly recently.

Jeez, am I gonna have to stop reading this thread until i see Infinity War? it'll be MONTHS.

If Agents of SHIELD is renewed I very much doubt that the team will be gone (unless someone has a gig lined up already).

I don't like how they haven't announced if it will be back and doesn't give fans who might have left a reason to come back. So we will see what happens
...

Any possibility of Quake appearing in a future movie?

I remember saying at the beginning of the show that Skye would later appear as the leader of SHIELD in later movies. Considering who she is and what they’re doing now, it seems very likely.

I don't care how cheesy it looked, I loved seeing Coulson kiss May while using the force field shield to the block incoming projections. Even better, it was May who went off to the alien ship's bridge to save the day by diverting the missiles from the Lighthouse...and back to the ship. I'll never get tired of that little trick.

But now we've hit the junction we were warned about months ago: Save Coulson or save the world...because there's not enough Centipede Serum to save them both. This is the only way they can break the loop because everything else has come exactly true. This just wasn't the way they expected and now Talbot is ready to become the Destroy of Worlds, even if he doesn't realize the consequences of his actions.

Talbot may have gone full villain, but I still weep for him (like May said, who saw that coming?). All he wanted to do was get back to his family and fix the problems surrounding him, but in trying to do that, he has attacked his wife and terrified his son. Even if he somehow survives what's coming, I'm having a hard time seeing he can come back from those actions. :(

About the finale...
If the rumor of Ghost Rider returning becomes true, then perhaps he'll save Coulson in some way...but with a price, of course. Supposedly the show will end with most loose ends tied up and not with a cliffhanger, but I wonder if Coulson (or his friends decide for him) some kind of bargain like the one Robbie made. That said, it would be weird if the show ended with Coulson becoming the next Ghost Rider (or something similar).

That said, I think that possibility is more likely than my earlier speculation about Ghost Rider and Infinity War
i.e. somehow protecting the team from Thanos' finger-snap.

I sure hope we find out if the show has been renewed or not before the finale airs.

I appreciate them boiling the situation down to a simple binary choice. I was worried it'd be hard for them to show how the team screwed up saving the world before and have them actually succeed this time. Though I'd appreciate it if someone considered that, before it kills people, the Odium multiplies their strength and induces a psychotic rage, which seems like a bad thing to put into the megalomaniacal gravity-monster who's on the verge of destroying the planet.

I wonder if there's any rhyme or reason about when they don't use the title card and just flash "Agents of SHIELD" over the screen. I suppose the action was already in space looking at Earth...

Plotting continues to proceed at a snail's pace, so by my prior reckoning, this episode took place more-or-less concurrently with the reunion scene at Avengers HQ (typical American news, still preoccupied with the rubble in New York from the prior morning and not even mentioning the midnight tussle with the same aliens in Scotland). Next week has plenty of cushion to handle the snap at whatever point in the story they choose.
