You're making an assumption that they follow the same biological rules as mamals on earth. They're a different species. You can't assume the same rules apply

Ok I'll bite.
Chakotay did beam directly into the chamber with the sleeping aliens so I can see him not meeting anyone else. My problem was they still had muscle tone to sit up. People in comas do not maintain good muscle mass.
When I went to the next paragraph I thought we were still talking about Waking Moments. When you said the aliens had breast I thought you were remarkably observant because I certainly didn't. Lol
As for the macro viruses I had the impression they were feeding on their hosts. The biting infected the host, the micro viruses emerged from the holes but, like bugs, they returned to the host to continue feeding until they were done.
I got nothing on the reverse aging. Cool concept and one of the few Tuvok centric episodes so I'll chalk it up to space magic.

To me the muscle tone implied that they didn't spend 100% of their time asleep. Perhaps they hibernate. There are animals here on earth that do that.

(Can I just say, this is such a beautiful episode. It all takes place in a small clearing in the woods. We get to see the fatherly side of Tuvok, and even hear him sing a lullaby written for this story. It's one of the more high concept sci fi stories in early Voyager)
The Macrovirus:
In that case, the hosts of the Viruses should all be dead. When you remove that much flesh, IE the flesh needed for that big of an increase in mass, then the person dies. That also applies to harry Kim, he should have had holes dug inside of him in order to feed the cells that species 8472 put in him. That's what happens with cancer which is the closest thing to that thing in the real world.
We only see a few of the macro viruses. The majority are micro size so it's possible the macro viruses are feeding off several people, not just one.
How can you remove that much flesh from people and so fast without causing any damage? I am sorry but that doesn't make sense. Plus we can see the virus increase in size very quickly in sickbay and it's not feeding off of anything, except air!!!
True the one in sickbay literally blew up off the petre dish.
We didn't see all 150 crewmembers, so we have no way of knowing who may have been injured.
Well we know they were not full of air because Janeway stabs one and it doesn't deflate.
Did you see how big these viruses were? I don't think 150 people entirely digested, even the bones, were enough to feed them all!
Do you know how much you have to eat (in addition to your normal intake) to get say two pounds fatter? More than four times that much and this assuming that your food is very rich!
It was never stated where the virus came from, for all we know it evolved on a J-Class planet and either through a transport or meteoroid ended up on the mining colony where the oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere proved to be sufficient nutrients for the virus to adapt and grow at a considerable rate. This is an alien pathogen, there's no reason to think it would behave like anything here on Earth.
Viruses don't do anything, they don't move on their own, they don't eat, they don't even reproduce by themselves. All they do is stay where they are and latch on the first monocellular organism they get in contact with and inject their DNA into it so it gets reprogrammed and produces more Viruses. That's it!
Voyager's viruses are just impossible, they seem to have complex automatisms, like when they take their infected hosts and put them together somewhere on the ship. That's a very complex behavior that suggests not only a central nervous system but a brain, not to mention a set of sense organs!
A virus is something so simple that it barely qualifies as a living organism.

Well there are 'zombie ants'. Their behavior is changed as the result of a fungus.
A fungus is more complex than a virus, plus it doesn't do anything either. It reprograms the ant so it moves toward a place favorable to the development of the fungus and then dies there. The Programmationtion is indeed something complex in and of itself but it doesn't require the fungus to develop organs and limbs let alone a brain, to move willingly from one place to another, like Voyagers' "viruses" do.
Well imo the doctor proved in the episode he was fallible. I always thought of them as insects. Giant, mutated mosquitoes crossed with human eating fruit flies.

Personally, not sure I could handle a shuttle craft like the Delta flyer without puking. Even with inertial dampeners, the outside view would disorient me.
