Generations alternate end scene

Picard and Kirk on the bridge of the Enterprise-A? Not sure what you mean.

I can't remember if it was Braga or RDM, but one of them did say that if they could do it over, they'd have had Kirk and Picard teaming up on the bridge of their respective starships. That would have been a lot cooler.

just a play on the last scene of the movie with Kirk instead of Riker. But seeing Kirk and Picard on the bridge of the Kirks Enterprise somehow would've been awesome (maybe in Kirks nexus instead of his house/horse ride they could've visited the original movie bridge etc and maybe various scenes from the previous movies in that Trials&Tribulations/Back to the Future 2/Christmas Carol way )

Trying to say that torches shouldn't be passed? That itself would be questionable and pretty self-defeating for sequels that don't focus on Kirk.
It is a questionable move, certainly a controversial one, to try to have Kirk be not even the co-protagonist but basically a guest star when his fans expect him to be the star and very much the hero. Anything other than him taking over the film would probably be considered underwhelming given that he usually was the star. I think the film did OK in having him play a significant part without having him take over the whole film.

Edit: Riker is a somewhat Kirk-like figure (the film could have emphasized that more) and so I think ending the film between Picard and Riker, noting that they're the senior officers and Riker more the future, was nice.

That looks like the Star Trek display at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Hollywood.

Cute idea, but I'm glad they did it the way they did, between the two endings.

I think such a fanservice-y ending would've made the movie worse.

Spock and even Scotty both are still alive in the 24th century, did we really need to include Kirk in it as well?

When characters die, you learn to cherish them even more than "Oh don't worry, they never die" type of writing that this falls under, for me.

Don't forget McCoy in "Encounter at Farpoint."
