Report: Ex-Smallville Star Leader of Sex Cult

Supergirl won't be on Supergirl pretty soon. (aka it will be canceled.)
Well, that's certainly apropos of nothing, including reality.

As for the Allison Mack stuff, I have to admit I'm following it raptly, though not happily. Loved Smallville, loved Mack/Chloe, and this incredibly lurid and grotesque slow-motion train wreck is impossible to tear my eyes away from.

Anybody just as distrubed that Kruek was also involved in this cult. Add that to Sam Jones(Pete) going to prison a few years ago and does cast a almost dark "Different Strokes" style shadow over the entire show. If any good can come from this story is the one should never judge a book by it's cover. These two ladies were really hot and i'm guessing somewhat wealthy but they still end up have enough human insecurity we all have that in this case lead them down this dark path.

Yeah, loved her on Smallville so I find this one really bothers me, way more than most of these things do. It's not as widely reported but apparently Nikki Clyne of nuBSG is involved as well.

The source for the Sun piece is a former publicist for the group who was fired and is embroiled in major lawsuits with it, so it's no surprise he was spinning things as negatively as possible. On the other hand, there do seem to be some real issues here, most notably the voluntary "blackmail" aspect and thus (implicitly) the questionable degree of consent to the group's activities. Beyond that (and the highi-roller financial stakes), it doesn't sound all that different from a lot of fraternities and sororities (for better or worse). The word "cult" is a tricky thing to throw around, as it has no clear legal definition.

^ While you're certainly right that not all sources of information are created equal, the Feds didn't indict Raniere and haul him back from Mexico for running the equivalent of a sorority. And if "cult" has no clear definition, this group seems like a pretty good place to start establishing one.

My impression was to think of sciencetology when I read this or David Koresh. Now I don't know what to believe especially since my impression of the "Sun" is that it's basically the British version of 'The National Enquirer" but i'm not sure about that. Seems like a legit story because it's being reported in other places as well but it's really hard to know who to trust in the media anymore. Doesn't help that just recetntly watched a YOung Turks vidoeo about SInclair broadcasting and it's propoganda efforts.

^ If Nxivm was secretly funded by LexCorp and Allison was a meteor freak and using laser eyes to do the branding, sure. Or red Kryptonite was part of their diet plan, or.....

Okay, jokes aside....what the hell, Allison? Sheesh. I'm still unclear on who got who in the cult first with the Smallville girls. Allison or Kristin? In any case, it appears that Allison stayed after things got weird and sadistic.

I remember Smallville started when I was a junior in high school...I stopped watching (or watched only sporadically) by the time I was done with college. But I remember being 17 and thinking that Kristin Kreuk was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Sometimes she took my breath away. And years later, I read stories like this and I think "What the hell are celebrities thinking to get involved in stuff like this? Idiots."

I suspect they're generally thinking exactly the same things as the other 16,000-plus members thought.

It seems that there was an outer organization and an inner cult simultaneously, at least for a while. Not everyone who ever attended a People's Temple service was part of Jim Jones' cult, and there's a world of difference between cafeteria Catholics and monks with vows of silence. According to Kreuk's statement, which isn't for me to fact-check, she was never part of the cult side.

And you have proof of that? Oh yeah I didn't think so. Meanwhile Trump said it on fucking tape.

But 'fake news'.

Stupidity really pisses me off.

Lets remember that Clinton lied to the hole Country when he said he didn't have sexual relations with that women! We should all just accept that a lot of the people in Washington are rich liars and sometimes you have to pick who you feel is the lesser of two evils. Point being that just like Trump when it comes to money and Women the Clintons are scumbags too.

There's evil personally, and there's evil politically. Since we're voting for these folks first and foremost to enact policy, the Clintons are still infinitely preferable to the likes of Trump. You can't excuse irresponsible voting choices by handwaving that "they're all the same." Folks who choose to cast their vote for the ignorance, fear, and hatred platform have to own it.

That's definitely a matter of personal opinion one that I can't say I share in fact I'd say they are all equally as dirty as the other.
