Report: Ex-Smallville Star Leader of Sex Cult

Plus many might not know about the credibility of The Sun. I never heard of them until this. Well I might have heard of them but not enough to really form a opinion about them.

The only thing you need to know about The Sun is that it's a tabloid.

And as we all know - as we all should know, anyway - tabloids always lie.

Tabloids were fake news before we even knew of that phrase. You really can't believe anything any tabloid ever prints. Just assume that every single headline ever printed in a tabloid is fake, and you'll be much better off.

Indeed, isn't that the point? People don't buy tabloids to find out actual facts; they buy them to find out what outlandish fake horseshit they'll print this week.

*long pause*

Right? :(

I think that use to be true but who knows how people, think today. Some people actually think Foxnews is a real news network.

Some people think MSNBC is a real news network.
Some people think CNN is a real news network.

A lot of people think TV news is actually news.

Well they used to be which is one difference. Now it's all reality tv. I blame the O. J Simpsons trial. That's when a murder trial became entertainment.

These days I tend to get my news mainly from NPR and PBS, rather than commercial sources such as CNN or Fox.

As far as tabloid journalism, the word "tabloid" was originally just a neutral technical/descriptive publishing industry term that referred to the size of the paper. It's interesting how the word came to be so intrinsically associated with outlandish sensationalism. Perhaps the lower cost of producing this format led to everybody and their brother starting a stupid gossip rag to try to make a buck.

Imagine the amusement that ensued when my hometown paper and its affiliated papers in a handful of nearby cities considered switching to the tabloid format purely for economical reasons.

Bill Clinton was accused of sexual assault by his enemies. Donald trump bragged about it to his friends.

The Sun has had to apologize for false stories like 4 times in the last several years. Take everything they publish with an entire bag of salt.

That said, celebrities do weird shit sometimes. Anything is possible.

Keith Raniere was arrested in Mexico earlier this week on charges sex trafficking and forced labor, and extradited to the USA.

I'm confused. So was she a leader of the cult or is she part of the cult? Did we ever get a answer to the question?

Jason

Not reading the article, but a search shows a DAilyMail article that says as police hauled off Keith Raniere, Allison Mack was amongst those who chased the police for arresting this cult pervert.

Let it be noted that the cult was based out of upstate New York, not Hollywood, and that this sort of thing is hardly "commonplace" when it comes to people who working in the film industry, or even "celebrities." This is a weird and extreme and has little to do with "Hollywood" per se. Cults and cult leaders have been with us always.

But, yes, it looks as though Mack is not going to be guesting on SUPERGIRL anytime soon.

I was all ready to make a "and the problem is...?" joke considering we're talking about Allison Mack here and my... "flirtation" with BDSM stuff and slight interest in it... but it seems like this "cult" takes it a bit far.
