    YES YES YES!!!!
I know you are excited! This is the new challenge for March 2018.
    @Cyfa suggested this amazing and totally rockin' art-challenge;
TREKFORMERS!!... (no, not former trekkers)... TREKFORMERS!!

You can take anything or anyone in the trek-universe, and create a transformer.
From Transforming trek-tech like a shuttle pod to a robot
or a captain's chair and back again (what a job, even for a robot)
    A worf-transforming transformer.... anything.

Any media are good to go, except maby writing poem's
But you can draw, photomanip, paint, 3D, sculpt, animate,
or actually build a transformer in star trek style... that would be very impressive!!
So run to your garages and start building, or just draw something.

Good luck, the challenge closes in 21 days.

Yeah, I was hoping you would run with that particular suggestion by @Cyfa! I already have several ideas in my head how to tackle this. Now I only need to find time to work on my entry … :shifty:

And as a refresher, here are some sensible notes from the Art Challenge Guidelines:
    • the artwork you submit should be created during the month of the challenge
    • only one final image can be submitted (although it may contain multiple views)
    • your final entry should be posted in this thread (although dedicated WIP threads are appreciated)

A poster for the challenge - Brilliant!!!
I'd better get my thinking cap on (this may have been my vague suggestion, but I hadn't actually thought of what I'd do). Thanks, @pl1ngpl0ng, and good luck everyone! :)

Edit 22:08 - I've just discovered that a few Trekformers already exist thanks to the August 2007 Art Challenge "Domo Arigato, Star Trek Roboto" - entries can be seen at Ptrope's here.

Not quite, that was a custom job. (And all the kibble around the secondary hull was just hideous.)

Because I'm old school (or maybe just old ;) ) here's my entry, inspired by the Transformers profiles you'd find in the UK Generation 1 comics.

You know, it must be embarrassing for the 'bots that don't transform into cool vehicles:

    Hello folks,
I intended to actually create a few panels of a Trekformers TV show/comic book tie-in story called "Doomsday Seed" you can take that as you will. Anyhow here is my artwork I was able to get completed.. Enjoy! [IMG]

Thank you for your service and participation in this challenge!
You have all proven to be outstanding contributors to the art-community
here at our blue dot at Orion–Cygnus Arm about 8 kiloparsec
(25.000 light years) from the galactic center.

Somewhere between here and 2000Billions other galaxies,
swirling around in the interstellar dust,
with 10.000million stars in many of them,
there are certainly civilization's that accurately look like your artistic vision.
