Things that frustrate us all

People who drive with their fog lights
Sorry, but I leave mine on all the time (if my headlight are on) because they give me a wider view of the road close in. With them off, I usually can't see the curb, or anything about ready to step into my path. This has saved the lives of countless squirrels, some cats, and a few dogs, plus one small human child.

The thing that annoys me is I can't turn the fog lights by themselves without the headlights. In very dense fog, you really want just the fog lights (and drive under 20MPH), but for some reason that's not legal.

People who just assume that it's ok to smoke in your house even though there are no ashtrays in sight. It's even more grating when it's people who are there to work! Each time there's the unpleasantness of the discussion and the time it takes them to get that they need to get the stinky, smoky, incandescent thing outside and put it out themselves.
I now ask the contractors to put on the contract that their employees are not to light up on my premises and I make it a deal breaker.

They may help you see better, but they blind other drivers.

No, they don't. Other people in my area have the same exact car I have with fog lights, and they've never blinded me.

I have seen a few after-market one that were not installed right that are pretty bright, but mine were a factory-install.

Most people these days seem to have the courtesy even to not smoke inside their own house, particularly when they have non-smoking guests over.

In the UK according to the Highway Code Fog lights MUST NOT be used unless visibility falls below 100m. i.e. it is a motoring offense. Because they could dazzle other road users. Now they may not dazzle you because you are using the fog lights so your eyes get used to that level of light, other road users who don't use them aren't used to that higher level of light and as such could be dazzled by bright lights.

When the internet goes on the fritz, that’s annoying, especially now we satellite channels now come down the phone line.

I’m frustrated that the full runs of the British and American versions of “Whose Line is it Anyway” are still not available on DVD. Also “Dave Allen at Large.”

In Germany, it's even 50 meters. They really are extremely dazzling, particularly in hilly terrain.

Huge argh-moment for most Europeans on Sunday morning: we're back to the [insert un-ladylike swearwords here] unbearable DST. Thank heavens I work flexi-time. I just come to work an hour later and stay an hour later by DST - in other words, I come and go as usual (in normal time).
I soooo hope they'll abolish that nonsense one day. It costs a fortune, it's pitch black again when you get up and in midsummer the sun shines till almost midnight, keeping you from sleeping when nevertheless you have to get up early the next day. I expect the sun to be in the zenith by 12 o' clock, not 15° east of it. After all, the sun being in the zenith at 12 is the very definition of noon and local time! *grumblestupidpoliticiansgrumblegrumble*

On the subject of car lights, idiots who park facing towards the flow of traffic with their lights on, even if they are dipped you are shining them into the lane with oncoming traffic, use your side lights if you are parked like that.

@rhubarbodendron I also dislike DST. I am a morning person and start work at 6am, and prefer standard time for the same reasons as yourself.

I fear that they are eventually going to make DST permanent, since it already lasts 8 months of the year. That will make sunrise about 10am around here!

I certainly don't like the switching back and forth, but I vastly prefer DST over Standard Time. If they ever do abolish the changing, I'd prefer to go on DST year-round.

No complaints here! :)

lol are you a morning person? :)

I am up before 6am every day and I go to bed between 9:30-10pm. I like the sun in the mornings! I also live at like the absolute western edge of the Eastern time zone which makes it even worse.

Today the thing that frustrates me is when you have an appointment and the other person does not show up nor gives you reasonable warning.

same here, auntie! I soo look forward to getting pensioned off. Then the first thing I'll do is spend a whole week in bed! =)

Marynator, welcome to the BBS :) The name sounds familiar - have you been a member here before or do you by any chance use that name on any Andromeda-related boards?

Not keeping an appointment and not even notifying the other person is not just frustrating it's plain rude. Usually, prejudices/stereotypes are not true but there's definitely one exception: Germans are always punctual. If in Germany, you don't show up for an appointment and don't even have the courtesy to notify your partner of it, it's considered the paramount of rudeness and a grave insult. It's absolutely unforgivable.

My argh moment today is rather harmless: April is having a dress rehearsal. We've had rain, sleet and sun all day in 5 minute intervals, and a brutally cold wind. Very annoing if like me you work mostly ourdoors.

Thank you for the kind welcome rhubarbodendron! I have not been to this message board before, nor one for Andromeda. I have not been on message boards (not counting facebook) for about 10-15 years, and that was only brief.

Germany sounds like my kind of place then! I was supposed to get my computer replaced at work today, but they hadn't received it and didn't tell me. Normally I work from home, so once I need to put on make up and shoes to go into the office the day is lost.

Ugh, weather. At least it's warmer here (meaning you don't freeze if you so much as look out a window), even if it's raining. I am so over winter already.

that sucks!
I'd love to work from home but my internet connection is very fragile and breaks whenever it rains or is frosty. Highly annoying. Fortunately, my office is only 2 miles away and I don't wear make up. This way I can be at my desk within 20 mins after waking up (not counting the daily 8 hours of office sleep :D)
