I wonder how much time Elfman had to score that movie after they dumped the Junkie XL score. It seemed like he didn't have much time since it was so bland.

So no different than if he’d had started from the beginning of production, then.
Watched it last night for the first time, not as entertaining as the Marvel movies. I think Ben Affleck is a terrible Batman. Wonder woman, Flash and Cyborg made it worth keeping my eyes open.
Does anybody remember how there were rumors that Jesse Eisenberg's Lex had a bigger role in JL that got cut when Whedon came in to finish up post-production?

Which would have been fitting with the return of Superman from the comics. Great idea! Too bad somebody didn't think of it earlier.
I read somewhere that he was scoring storyboards and not footage for some of the reshoot scenes.
I quite liked it too. I think a lot of the criticism was based on specific fan expectations. I just saw it last week.

I don't think it was expectation, I think it was preconceived notions. People knew what was happening behind the scenes on this movie, and had their reviews written before even seeing the movie.

Correction: People who post on online forums and devour all this stuff went in with that baggage. Which I don't think is a majority of the movie going public.
I bet most of them couldn't even tell you who directed the movie... and they have 2 shots at a right answer.
The other half of the baggage, though, came from one's feelings on the movies leading up to JL.
It's not a fact that Zack Snyder did not get to finish the movie, and was replaced by Joss Whedon, a man who clearly has a different narrative style from Snyder?

I was expecting the film to be more disjointed with large tonal shifts because of that. Instead it held together quite well.
Of course it did, because most of the film was Zack's, and all Whedon did was add a few things - which were requested by Zack - and oversee the way that the final film was put together editorially.
Which is literally not what happened at all. More like Zack got fired, and Joss changed almost everything. But that isn't what we're talking about here.
I'd like to see actual reputable sources either way. As I mentioned here on in another thread, I wouldn't even have noticed HCs strange smile if I hadn't already known it was an issue.
Everything you just said is wrong, and has been proven to be wrong by Hollywood "insiders".
