Just started watching DS9 again for 1st time in over a year

Began w/Emissary and here are my thoughts

1) This is so much better in my mind since my first watch back in 93-very good writing
2) The first 5 min have more action than the first 2 years of TNG
3) Odo, Quark, and Dukat put in great performances.

I was never a DS9 fan when it first aired, but i recently started watching the Dominion War episodes. Some have been great, amongst my favorite ever Star Trek episodes (In the Pale Moon Light) but others have been irritatingly bad (Tears of the Prophet).

I do love Dukat and Garak, and Jeffrey Coombs (who I loved as Schran in Enterprise) is great as Weyoun, but I am not sure I'll be able to stomach the rest of them.

It's always charming to rewatch this series and watch it develop from a decent show to an epic series. Such an awesome show. I'm so glad I decided to finally watch it the whole way through on Netflix a few years ago. So sad that I missed out on it during its original run, but it's a great series to binge watch once they get the serial ball rolling.

I am finishing up the last 8 episodes of season 7, so I will have seen the whole Dominion War arc. My feelings are at best mixed. There have been a few episodes that I really liked, but I have really hated a few too. I also find a few of the actors pretty dubious, though as a TOS fan, I realize one has to overlook that sort of thing.

Laid up sick at home for a long weekend. Binge watched Season One of DS9 and have gotten well into Season Two. I've always liked DS9. I'd have to say that after TOS, it's my favorite Trek show. This has been my third full watch of the show (saw it in original broadcast and again when I first got the DVD's) and I'm surprised at the number of little details I'm picking up that I don't remember from the last time around. (which was ten years ago, be fair!)
