If you are going to lie at least pick something that's a bit more believable.

Every time a character was actually brought back to life in Star Trek outside of Time Travel or Q said character was less then a few days dead. Heck even the Borg were only able to revive a dead body so long as it haden't been dead longer then 73 hours.

You mean Spock, who's body was revived a couple days after it died?

And how long do you think Culber has been dead? It's hilarious that you think there are rules for something like this.

From the time he died to the award ceremony? At least a month if we are being realistic.

Hell assuming they didn't just give Culbert the standard Starfleet burial of shooting him into space the body wouldn't even be on the Discovery any longer at this point in the timeline.

And yes, there very much are rules about this.

    Dialog that established this?

There are no rules. A character can be dead for minutes, days, months or a century and be brought back by what ever Deus Ex Machina the writers come up with.

Lyndsay Ballard in Voyager was brought back and it was kind of creepy. I hope they don't go that way with Culber.

Yes, this. I was gonna say....are we really arguing the logic of bringing people back from the dead???

Culber will be brought back the same way as Ripley in Alien Resurrection. The Culber we see will be the eighth attempt and then he'll be horrified when he's forced to look at the first seven suffering.

On the plus side, Culber will play basketball better than anyone else.

Well they could do the Bobby Ewing thing. Stamets goes to get in the shower and Culber is already in their. Turns out the first season was all a dream.

I like the idea of him appearing in the spore network and it being up in the air for most of the season whether it's just all in Stamets' mind, some weird manifestation of the network trying to communicate with Stamets via a relatable source or Culber's consciousness somehow existing in the network and possibly recoverable. I presume the green spore thingy that landed on Tilly's shoulder has a connection to this possible future story arc.

I liked Culber and hated it when they killed him off. But I really hope he won't be back. I can't think of any way they can do that won't look stupid.

The 'original' Khaless was/is dead (and that was acknowledged by all the characters at the end of TNG's 'Rightful Heir". Cloning is not Resurrection per se. The Khaless clone had none of the memories from the original Khaless; just stories from the Klingon 'Bible' implanted. :)

Fair enough, but if they cloned Culber and he only had implanted memories, I'd still call it "Resurrecting Your Gays" lol.

‘Member how Pulaski resurrected three people who had been dead, due to various causes, for centuries?

Easily. Taking all of five minutes. With some shit she just had laying around sickbay.

Death in Star Trek is only permanent, until some clever writer character invents a shot that fixes it. 300 years later or no. That’s the only ‘rules.’

    No.

Are you talking about Crusher in The Neutral Zone? Or am I misremembering something from the second season? Up the Long Ladder, maybe?

At the funeral of Hugh Culber:

Ash Tyler: "Mr. and Mrs. Culber, I'm so, so sorry for your loss."

Philippa Georgiou: "Yeah, I concur. It's terrible that you can never possibly see your son again." (yawns)

Paul Stamets: "Don't worry, your son will live on in our memories. And possibly the mycelial network."

Sylvia Tilly: "What's this on my shoulder?"
