Why isn't her movie in the right and the other 2 crappy movies in the wrong?
You're judging her solo movie based on 2 crappy tie-ins, one of which only had her in it for 10 minutes. That's like saying Ant-Man was awful because he turned giant in Civil War.
I didn't think about it that way, but you have a point. Ant-Man was awful because he didn't turn into a giant deus ex machina.

Ant-Man 2 isn't ignoring GiAnt-Man, though.

And Wonder Woman 2 might not ignore Wonder Woman. The point I'm trying to make is to not blame the Wonder Woman movie, blame the other ones. As you just basically pointed out, they were (obviously) made by more incompetent storytellers. It happens.

Sorry, but that excuse doesn't fly when dealing with a Shared Universe where said storytellers and creators would collaborate to make sure these things don't happen. The MCU pulls it off.

Collaborate? Did you miss the huge disconnect between what Wonder Woman said in BvS and everything else that contradicted it in her own movie?

Right from the get-go, BvS was ignored. If the creators are ignoring that piece of garbage, why can't you? It would solve many of the problems you seem hung up on, among other things.

In a well made shared universe, you shouldn't have to ignore anything...

Agreed.
Nobody said anything about the shared universe being well made. I can never say that.

But we are discussing the Wonder Woman movie and how her powers, in her own movie, made sense. If they don't outside of it, well, Zach Snyder's gone, we'll see if they can finally make things work. But those movies had nothing to do with this one. Especially BvS. Just ask Gal Gadot about that one.

It's just goal-post moving that brought the shared universe into the debate, really.

Yeah, because they suck at collaborating.

Because that shows what a poorly created Universe this is. You can't just treat each movie like it's a separate Universe. That isn't how it works.

Anyways back to Wonder Woman news...

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...eases-what-definitely-wont-see-in-sequel.html

With “Wonder Woman” a decided success, a follow up movie was all but inevitable. Now, prior to its 2019 release, director Patty Jenkins is sharing some details about what fans won’t be seeing in the upcoming sequel

Jenkins was initially brought on to the first film as a replacement for director Michelle McLaren and ushered the franchise to new heights amid the otherwise ailing DC Comics film franchise that kicked off with “Man of Steel” in 2013. In September, Warner Bros. locked her down as the director of the sequelin the hopes of giving fans more of the same following Gal Gadot’s third appearance as the character in the Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon helmed “Justice League.”

Speaking to Us Weekly, the 46-year-old director explained that she’s been thinking about what she wants to do for the sequel while she was still filming the first one. While she wasn’t able to share concrete details about what people can expect from Diana Prince’s second standalone adventure, she was happy to share her list of rules for Gal Gadot’s portrayal of the character.

We’re full of things Gal doesn’t do, oh yeah, that Wonder Woman doesn’t do, for sure. I have a million of them,” the director revealed. “Head butt, punch people in the face unnecessarily, she’s not mean. She’s a bada--! She saves everybody, but Wonder Woman doesn’t hurt people viciously, she’s not vicious. I have a lot, a lot of Wonder Woman rules. She’s a wonderful and good person who does whatever she has to do that’s the safest for mankind. The end.”

Although Jenkins could only share what fans won’t be seeing in the movie, that doesn’t mean there’s not still a few details out there. As previously reported, the upcoming sequel is rumored to see the timeless character find herself in the 1980s during the Cold War. However, these are just rumors for now.

Unfortunately for “Wonder Woman” fans, but fortunately for DC Comics fans, Prince won’t have her second outing until December 2019. Until then, fans can look forward to Jason Momoa reprising his role as Aquaman in his first standalone feature, scheduled to hit theaters in October 2018.

Aquaman standalone later this year and Wonder Woman next year. Can't wait.

Khm, that's an odd autocorrect I presume? :p

Also, the article managed to get the dates wrong for both movies, Aquaman's in December 2018, and WW2 in November 2019.

She may not head butt in her own movie, but has no qualms about doing it in JL. It's okay though, Supes did it first, and he can take it when she dishes it back. :)

I laugh at anyone claiming continuity issues or "contradictions" in the DCEU, when the MCU (used as some model of eh--"perfection"...yeah, sure) has been routinely criticized for numerous plot points not matching up with other films in the line.

The MCU doesn't have nearly as many problems as the DCEU. Your problem is that for some reason you want Thor to be investigating Earth Political Conspiracies.

She was literally made to fight this one guy. Kind of makes sense that she'd have access to some powers only when fighting him.
Yep. Ninja'd.

She wasn't created to fight them so she doesn't get to access magical cheat codes.
Yep.

New God, mind you. And the whole mythology of the New Gods is based on them having gotten their power by the death of the Old Gods (who are not the same as the Olympian Gods, btw). In the comics, Darkseid was even recently ressurrected and brought to full power again by the killing of most of Zeus' children left on Earth. Also, in the 1980s, Darkseid's threat to invade Olympus had the Olympian Gods fleeing. All this suggests that the major players among the New Gods are more powerful than the Olympian Gods. Which is also true for the DCEU, as we've seen the Olympian Gods having to partner up with humans, Amazons, Atlanteans and Green Lanterns to beat Steppenwolf and his army the first time around.

So, no, the powers she had at her disposal against Ares, even if she had still had access to them, would not have been enough to beat Steppenwolf.
Interesting.

Would've been nice for her to at least TRY to use them and have them fail, rather than the nerfing she got overall in that flick.

A century went by between her fight with Ares and her confrontations with Doomsday and Steppenwolf. Would you consider it possible, if not to say even plausible, that she would have tried and failed to access these powers during these one hundred years?

How about starting with explaining how the Rainbow Bridge, which Thor destroyed at the end of his first movie, was repaired, and if it was to be repaired, then what was the point in destroying it in the first place.
