I can’t say that I am to honest.

Looking forward to seeing more, but the next instalments of Dr Who and the expanse burn a bigger hole.

Over here in England, we're only just halfway through season one of The Orville. It's not Discovery, but it's filling my space adventure hole for now. So I'm not cold turkey on Trek* like everyone in the US.

*Yes I know it's a legally distinct entity, don't say it. But it really is Berman Trek with dick jokes. And don't break out the Orville Reference Jar™

I'm making up my own stories in my head.

Right now I'm just imagining a flashback of Lorca with Mirror Burnham and Mirror Georgiou, in a backyard in the middle of the summer with a barbecue grill and their shades on while they cook whatever I'll leave up to your imagination. But they love the ribs. They're delicious. What exactly the ribs are? I'll never tell.

At one point, Georgiou's rubbing Lorca's shoulders as he eyes Burnham. Then he cracks open a can of alien beer, drinks it down, and thinks of dark, happy thoughts as the beer hits the spot. Then he kisses Georgiou.

Now I kind of wish it was summer...

I'm going through withdrawls over ALL my shows ending. Harmonquest, The Orville, and DIS (I refuse to use the STD acronym when every other show acronym doesn't have ST for Star Trek, like TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT). I'm glad the first season ended on a positive note, as I was concerned at the negativity in the show, but overall it was good.

It's supposed to be DSC.

Sure, a bit. No ST-DSC till 2019, no Orville till 2019, no Doctor Who for 10 months, Orphan Black is finished.

I really don't watch a lot of things, but luckily I have shitloads of DVD's & blu-rays.

I hate the absurdly long hiatuses (hiatii?) of modern TV shows. I find that instead of making me yearn for them to come back, after about 8 months my interest begins to significantly wane. This happened with Walking Dead (I really don't care that it's premiering next weekend), Better Call Saul (is that ever coming back?), and to a lesser extent, Game of Thrones (I tuned out after season 4 or so because it was gone for almost a year, and waited another year before getting back into it).

I fear the same will happen with Discovery. I like Trek and all, but waiting almost a year for it to come back? Star Wars films appear with more frequency these days.

I do that too. Sometimes I fill in the blanks left by the storytelling. I imagine episode 15 cancelling the Klingon ship FX and replacing it with the story of the Federation counteroffensive on Starbase 1, using their tactical advantage to send a message to stay away from earth (they can remote auto-destruct the starbase and see cloaked ships while Klingons run their ships cloaked and unshielded). The bloodbath and retreat of the house at SB 1 (and lack of coordination causing similar bloodbaths across Federation space) gives Lrell something to show how far they have fallen without unity and honor in addition to the bomb.

I imagine the adventures in the Mirror Universe of the Shenzou as it is uniquely positioned to fill the power vacuum (Emperor Detmer).

I imagine an Episode 14 with Sarek informing Michael that her performance for the war effort (and his pull as the ambassador of Vulcan, who has the president's ear) is going to get her reinstated, making her episode 15 "mutuny" one of potentially massive consequence and sacrifice for her and her family.

I imagine episode 10.1, the adventure of Captain Killy: where the ISS Discovery has a 4 week journey, wiping the floor with the Klingon invasion fleet, destroying ~75 ships (as it has targeting scanners faster than Klingon shields can rise post-cloak and a mini-spore weapon system) and taking an entire house out of the war effort before finally being overwhelmed by a second house and lack of spore drive. The performance of the ISS Discovery and knowledge that it's Terran better explains Starfleet's willingness to empower Georgio.

I imagine episode 0.1-2.1, the adventures of Lorca, where Lorca hatches his plan with mirror Burnham, gets transported to a new universe, shaves his goatee, and then we see his internal monologue as he hatches a plan to gather a crew and a ship to return home.

I imagine episode 15.1 where the emperor returns home having seen how brutal Vulcans can be and decides to retake the crown with a new idea of pulling the Vulcan's out of the resistance and into full membership of the empire.

It was unteresting to see what happened every week, but it never moved me much. Though to be honest, the last show that did was the West Wing.

Maybe I would be if not for the finale. They accidentally created the perfect solution to the lack of Discovery in my life. :)

Not withdrawal per say because. 1. whilst entertaining, it's not inspiring me that much 2. I watched it on an ad hoc basis and its not tethered in my mind to one specific time slot.

But I do dislike being made aware of how long it is until the 2nd season comes around. I do find that irksome despite myself.

Yes, I always suffer withdrawal symptoms for Star Trek. None especially for Discovery. Mostly still for Enterprise. Some for what happened with Picard & TNG after Nemesis. A tiny bit for where Abramsverse goes after Beyond.
