USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

I should also say one of the sources implied, but did not outright say, the Connie may be the U.S.S. Farragut. But honestly, based on my other sources, and the fact that no one except hardcore Trekkies even knows about the Farragut, I think it's pretty likely to be the 1701.

The only major leak we had from the show IIRC was the Klingons in costume.

The concept art for some of the Klingon ships also leaked 2 years ago, showing the Sarcophagus ship, the raiders and one of the destroyers. But I think it was denied by someone from the show or CBS? Then it turned out to be real anyways.

Oh, yeah, that was nuts. I don't think we knew the first thing about Series Six back then. I was surprised it ended up being as accurate as it was.

There was also a concept art leak a few months ago when one of the artists updated his portfolio a few episodes into season one, but didn't realize that not all of the stuff he'd posted had been in aired episodes yet. I don't think I saved the images in time, so I don't precisely recall what was in them, but I think they may have been props from the Mirror Universe rebel camp.

You gotta do better. What are we paying you for?

Well, in Jan 2017, I was in talks to join the VFX crew at CBS Digital before they lost the work and it went to Pixomondo. However, if I had gotten on the crew, I wouldn't have been able to tell you guys anything because of NDA...heh.

Maybe I'll get the chance to work on a future season.

With the Klingons working together could we actually see a recognisable BoP or D7 in a battle with the 1701 and the rest of Starfleet, stands to reason that the Klingons will have lost many ships as well, most likely sacrificing the older classes in suicide runs on Starbases.

If so they should have put it in the pilot episodes.

Wasnt Kirk on the Farragut at this time?
Farragut jumps into Klingon orbit
Hazy Closeup shot thru the glass view screen, CGI Shatner Kirk next to the captain
Torpedo mailstrom upon the California Raisin Head Klingons
Hilarity ensues

No harm in a little "We Come In Peace, Shoot To Kill".

Wont do the series any harm and a visit from the 1701 or Kirk would firmly anchor the show in the Prime Universe as well.

We could also have him say a line or two cobbled together from TOS quotes. Or, if that's too expensive, just have the captain namedrop him with a 'good shot, Lieutenant Kirk' or something similar.

Yeah I had once asked if the timeline matched up for Kirk to be Farragut gunner. If they do go down that route there would have to be some impressive shooting followed by chat on the Discovery bridge about "who is that hotshot?"...." guy called kirk apparently... new, beat the Kobayashi Maru test! "

Added bonus that no visual required, piss Shatner off and thereby guarantee ton of twitter activity ;)

Canon never said the Farragut was a constitution class. But since they never said what class it was in TOS, that leaves it open for the DSC people to make it whatever .

It’s currently 2257 (If they don’t got back in time) in DSC, that is also the year most of the crew was killed while Kirk was serving.

The Mirror Universe is proof that Discovery is already too wrapped up in pleasing hardcore fans. It's not even really well explained because it's treated as a given for the audience. Some laymen may know Spock once had a beard, but that he was part of an evil parallel universe? No. That was pure fan wank.

The Farragut circa 2257 = Lieutenant James T. Kirk. ;)

The disaster with the dikironium cloud creature happened sometime in 2257, but we don't know when. So yeah, almost any episode set during that year could feature Captain Garrovick, Kirk and the Farragut crew before 200 of them were killed at Tycho IV.

The Mirror Universe was explained in dialogue

As much as I want to see the Enterprise again (yay Enterprise!), I kind of want to see the Farragut, and that way if it looks different than the Enterprise we can just say that's because its a different ship that we didn't see in TOS.
Kirk would be a cool character in Season 2, but maybe William Shatner could be Captain Garrovick?

The upcoming battle is probably where it happens, too much of a coincidence otherwise.
