No, I'm just curious as to why DC fans get so fanatical instead of just being happy at the prospect of good movies.
There is one fanatical person I am currently posting about on here, and he ain't a DC fan.

Youtube, Facebook and the old IMDB forums.
So not one post in this thread then? Got it.plus anything Dales has ever said about the MCU as well.
Try this: https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/i-do-not-like-mcu-films.276544/
I recently made my first post in this thread. It was a minor criticism of the film; specifically, I was bothered by the way Diana treats Charlie and the apparent hypocrisy of it. My comments were belittled as "backlash" from an MCU fan unwelcome in this thread.
Do we really need to reserve this thread only for unmitigated praise of the film and demand any criticisms go to another thread? There's nothing wrong with loving the movie, but I think y'all could stand to be a little more tolerant of criticism.
The Ares fight, ironically, gives us the greatest display of power yet seemingly the least amount of effort.
She was specifically born to kill Ares, right?I liked it. She was born a God Killer. It stands to reason that her powers would be most effective against a God.
So Zeus endowed her with a magical "kill Ares" superpower, so all she really needed to do to kill him was show up and do it. Exciting! She was specifically born to kill Ares, right?
99% of superhero movie fights follow the Villain beats Hero within an inch of His/Her life than Hero rises up and defeats Villain structure/trope.So Zeus endowed her with a magical "kill Ares" superpower, so all she really needed to do to kill him was show up and do it. Exciting!

I liken her power progression to be like a video game - the longer she fights, the more power ups she gets. In the beginning, she could be injured by a bullet.
That describes Superman. So a borderline invincible hero who has random deus ex machina powers to save her at the end. How boring.
That describes Superman.
See, last six pages of posters? This is how it's done.I finally watched Wonder Woman for the first time today.
Incredible film. I absolutely loved it.
“A”
At least his movies have him fight opponents who could actually harm him. The WW writers were too afraid to put her in real danger.
Wonder Woman's staying power is unmatched by the other films.
They did. With Ares.
I had a free credit on Amazon Prime, so I watched WW.
Good, I gave it a B.
Stand out in the movie was Chris Pine, I thought he was a great Steve Trevor.
GG was good as WW, maybe not as splendiferous as the hype, but a good solid performance.
I liked the world war 1 version of Easy Co.
Some of the action in the middle of the movie was really good.
The beginning and ending were the weakest parts of the movie, specifically the exposition dump about the gods before they got to the island and the weird CGI battle at the end.
I didn't reduce the grade because of it but I just thought it totally ridiculous that Zeus and that whole pantheon of gods was introduced just to have killed them all off as backstory, couldn't they have thought of something better? But I guess the studio wanted some kind of explanation hammered onto the beginning. It just seemed like a very blunt way of doing things, "Look there's all these super powered beings, well there were because they are all dead now, so nevermind." It's and Informed Attribute to make Ares seem super tough when he really didn't even seem to be much there at all.
I like Captrek's point about hypocrisy, but I'm went with the fact that she barely knows which way is up about the world, having had to be told that yes that's a man only a few days before, so it didn't bother me.
I also wonder about the whole scene where the German's attacked the island. First, there seemed to be no kind of establishment for the need for hostilities. Do German sailors routinely shoot at strange women on sight? Strange clothes aside, it could have been any Greek island. I could see that the Amazons may have such an attitude (it's a secret island), but it would have been nice to have a little mention of it in that huge exposition dump I mentioned above (unless I missed it). Also, after all of the guys in the boats died, what did the guys in the ships do? Just leave without checking for their men? I wonder how good the Amazons would have done if the sailors opened up with some of those 5 inch guns on the ship for a coastal bombardment?
The easiest fight she had in the movie, once her Deus Ex Machina powers kicked in.
The German warship hit some reef and sank. If you look at the movie closely, you can see the ship slowly sinking every time the camera focuses on it. The only problematic thing about this scenario is that there are no "reefs" in any non-tropical waters.
