NFL 2017 Season

Difference in the game was yards on pass interference. Pats deserved their calls on offense but their defense got away with a couple of bad ones in the second half on key third downs for the Jags. Oh well. Both teams struggled to run and utilized a lot of underneath stuff to move the ball. Pretty evenly matched up. Bortles played well and should be proud.

Fucking Vikings can't do anything right. At least the Jags made a genuine attempt. Minnesota doesn't even look like they've showed up. Probably for the best. The way they're playing there's no way they'd have had a chance against the Pats.

Jags played great. Hell of a game. When it came down to it and Blake HAD to throw, couldn’t get it done though. Gilmore earned his pay for the year on that last block, though. Perfect deflection, zero contact with the wr to avoid any PI call, just perfect defense.

Hopefully Gronkowski is good to go for the SB, that’d be a tough blow. Amendola though, wow. Quiet during the regular season, and a post-season stud every year!

Brady is just amazing, this would be an all career comeback game if he didn’t t already have last year’s SB on his resume. Wish he could stop screwing around in the first half and save me chest pains though. Gotta be an easier way to win a big game...

What's more significant than a team winning it's first Superbowl, guaranteed if the Jags were there? Now it's just another "Does New England win again" couple weeks.

I mean statistically speaking, the odds of seeing a QB win his sixth Super Bowl is kind of a once in a lifetime if ever kind of thing. The Jaguars winning a Super Bowl doesn’t really have the same significance to it. When Brady goes I will be sad. I like watching the greatest in sports.

I wouldn’t crown the AFC yet either. I know Brady vs Foles doesn’t sound exciting but the Super Bowl should be competitive.

That's fine, but it's kinda nasty to say that the Jaguars winning would've had "no significance." Nobody questions whether Brady is one of the greatest ever, a sixth Super Bowl won't really make a difference there. We'll see about how the actual game goes, but it's all deja vu.

A couple other things I forgot that we can look forward to in the next two weeks:
- Endlessly repeated questions of "Did Donovan McNabb puke?" and "Did McNabb let TO down?"
- Vaguely racist descriptions of how dirty and violent Philadelphia is (especially compared to All-American Boston).
- Constant accounts of how Philadelphia fans are the worst and nastiest in sports. Did you know they even hate Santa?!

 Philly's mayor just ordered city workers to cover all the lamp and stoplight posts with Crisco so that nobody can climb up on them to set the city on fire if they win...OR lose. I think there may be something to it.

I envision a 24th Century Boston with a park the commemorating the four greats, Ted Williams for the BoSox, Larry Bird for the Celts, Bobby Orr for the Bruins....and Tom Brady for the Pats ...

:hugegrin::lol:

Well I really didn’t root against Jax and wasn’t trying to be nasty about it. More like just okay with the outcome. Besides we still have a possible “first Super Bowl” with Philly. Now both stories are still in play.

A sixth Super Bowl would be almost insurmountable to see again.

AFC Super Bowl QBs of the last 15 years:

03 – Brady
04 – Brady
05 – Roethlisberger
06 – Manning
07 – Brady
08 – Roethlisberger
09 – Manning
10 – Roethlisberger
11 – Brady
12 – Flacco?!
13 – Manning
14 – Brady
15 – Manning
16 – Brady
17 – Brady

Step up your game, AFC.

(But not just yet. Go Pats!)

^ Yup. The NFC has seen so much more just... interesting variety over the last 15 years.

Good points. :)

They actually greased the poles yesterday morning, anticipating issues if the Eagles won.

But in any event, they greased poles on Broad Street when the Phillies were poised to win the World Series, and ... yeah, that didn't stop anyone.
