Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Phoenix & Lokirrim ship arrived today. Pod on top of my Phoenix is ok but one of the nacelles is broken off. Easily enough fixed with some model glue but add me to the list of people who’ve had an issue with this model.

Lokirrim Ship is one I just got because I’m subscribed probably wouldn’t have bothered with it otherwise.

XL Voyager is still MIA despite shipping a week before the package I got today on Jan 2. I’ll be reporting it missing to Eaglemoss.

Well, shit! The Tellarite Cruiser arrived today but NOT the Curry.

My guess? Subscribers are sitting hind tit behind the online store once again; the model sold out and the stuff reserved for us was used to shore up the store's inventory. Typical...

Well I was finally going to subscribe to the XL series but the website keeps giving me an error when trying to pay. Used several different cards but no luck. Oh well, I'll just subscribe some other time if they don't want my money...

Curry ? Do you mean the Buran ?

Which of course they’ve had up on the online store listed as a “preorder” for several weeks even before it went out to subscribers.

The back page of the Tellarite Cruiser magazine (#115) says that #116 is the USS Curry NCC-42254. Could that be a misprint maybe?

Update: Memory Alpha also thinks the next one (116) is the Curry.

Update 2: Oh, my bad! You're right - I am missing the Buran (#114). The Curry comes next month. My mistake... Well, Eaglemoss' mistake, but yeah, the Buran.

No, that’s right but did you get #114 the Buran already ?

The 2 I got were #112 Phoenix and #113 Lokirrim.

I too, picked up a Phoenix from the store today. In retrospect, I'm surprised it was out so soon. I'm in Canada, which means we get stuff well after the UK. Not sure if we get stuff the same time as the US or later.

Anyway, the Phoenix looks really nice. I was looking forward to this one, partly because the "standard" Nebula I have was very noticeably crooked in the way the pod was pointing (more on that in a moment). I never crazy about the Phoenix's "AWACS" pod, but looking at it now, I think it looks fine, and wouldn't have minded seeing more Nebulas (Nebulae?) in this configuration.

Edited to add: (Plus, it's much easier for shuttles going in or out of the main bay).

As a sidenote: Remember how I said the "Honshu" Nebula model had its pod pointing a bit off? It's not anymore. In fact, it's not pointing anywhere. I took the Honshu off the shelf to compare the two and ended up dropping it. It was only about three feet onto carpet, but I guess that was enough to break off the pod.

I'm actually not that upset about it, though. I've had some similar mishaps with ships before and got some really good glue to fix it, and this'll give me a chance to make some lemons into lemonade by putting the pod on straight this time (assuming I can keep my hands steady enough to hold it in place right as the glue sets).

Just got an email from Eaglemoss saying that "E_STCON04 x 1 - Enterprise-C Concept has shipped". Now, since I already received the E-C Concept last week, I'm assuming that this is the magazine that got left out.

I'm curious if the CG model shown in the orthos is also missing the details on the upper secondary hull near the neck, or if it was simply an error in the finishing process of the physical model alone.

Maybe not. I got the same email but don’t have my Ent-C concept yet. However, I can tell from the tracking info that it matches a package pending in the USPS informed delivery app which showed up as pending several days ago.

Out of curiosity when you click the tracking info (& for anyone else in the US) what path do your packages take ? Curious if different warehouses are used vs what’s USPS fault for all my delays. Plus I’m wondering if different warehouses have different stock issues.

Mine ship from Fishers, IN then go to Elizabeth, NJ then to Easton, PA where it appears to finally be put into the USPS system before making its way to me in VA.

Clicked on the tracking info and it says:

So, these email notices seem to be coming in late for things already delivered, like there system just woke up and said, "HEY, we need to send these emails out!" WTF is going on with those people?!?

Further, it would appear that I'm getting all of these things (BOTH individual purchases from the online store AND my usual subscription) sent from a different distribution warehouse in Fishers, Indiana, not Pennsylvania, as before, and came straight out my way without getting re-routed to different locations. Perhaps they finally closed Pennsylvania because they were idiots.

Going to need to put together a new email to customer service soon to find out what's happening to all my missing ships. Maybe I'll get better service from this new crew.

The Beyond Enterprise will be debuted on 29 January UK. But there’s no dispatch date yet, right? TrekCore reports March/Spring.

So I've just got word that the Curry is available for pick-up at Forbidden Planet, but because they close at 17:00hrs this evening, I'll have to wait till tomorrow lunch time before I pick it up.

Can't wait to see what that connecting structure looks like between the hulls.

I wonder if anyone will do a "Raging Queen" variant. They're different enough.

The Curry's out today in UK shops. Braved the snow and picked it up this morning, love it! One of those ships that it's so cool to have a model of, this collection and its publisher may have a lot of problems but you'd never get a model of this ship anywhere else. Think I'll put it next to the USS Centaur, awaiting to be joined the by the Yeager-class and USS Elkins at some point :D

First pictures of the Phase II-Enterprise model!
(No idea if anyone has already posted them? If so, sorry!)

A great sculpt. But I'm extremely unhappy with the color choice. They chose to paint her the same way as the TOS connie, greenish-grey color, and orange nacelle bulbs. That's just...wrong. I read the final model in the series might have looked like that. But considering the ONLY official images we ever had of this model were paintings, with the same color scheme as the TOS-movie Enterprise (white hull, with blue nacelle caps), THAT would be the official and "correct" color scheme of the ship IMO.

I would have bought her, as a unique model and an interesting design right at the "midpoint" between the two best Star Trek starship ever created. But with the color issue, she looks just wrong IMO, and I'm going to pass :sigh:
