Individuals who were erased from history

At least two time travel episodes deal with an alternate future in which some character has children or descendants; then, when the past is changed and that timeline is erased, those individuals are erased from history.

This happened to Kes's daughter and grandson, Linnis and Andrew, in "Voyager's" "Before and After." And "Deep Space Nine" had an entire episode revolving specifically around that topic, with a group of DS9 descendants being erased from history due to time travel ("Children of Time").

Interestingly, both of those episodes were released--and thus take place in--the same year. Makes one wonder if the "Children of Time" and "Before and After" timelines are somehow related....

But anyway, I'm just curious about other characters who existed only in "alternate futures," that were ultimately erased. I'm planning to do something with this in a fanfic down the road, but even if I wasn't it's still something a Trekkie can't help but ponder.

So from DS9, we have Yedrin Dax, and his whole (bland) colony, from "Children of Time."

On "Voyager," we have Linnis Paris and Andrew Kim from "Before and After."

There's also Naomi Wildman's daughter Sabrina in "Endgame;" however, we have no guarantee Sabrina won't still be born.

And of course, Annorax's wife, and all those other people erased from history in "Year of Hell;" that of course was all fixed in the end, so we never actually met anyone who we know for a fact was erased. (Though certainly, there would have been countless individuals constantly being created and destroyed in a second, as the episode discusses.)

What about TOS, TNG, "Enterprise," "Discovery" or the movies? I'm curious if there are any other characters whose bio starts with "in an alternate future..."

Judy Winslow.

In Time's Arrow when the crew went back in time, it changed history in subtle ways that caused a blue collar family in the 1990s to have one fewer child.

Wow... I'm reading the Memory Alpha article for that episode, talk about a ripoff.... well I guess I should check the episode out anyway. Thanks!
Yeah Enterprise copied a few episodes  Naomi's future daughter Sabrina from voyager episode "End Game" probably ceased to exist once Voyager got home. Dax mentioned Bashir had a kid in DS9 episode "The Visitor". In TNG "First Born" the Alexander from the alternate timeline brought back a knife that showed Lursa had a son. But Lursa was killed in Star Trek Generations. I bet her son was probably on the ship when it exploded.

8( Well that's depressing....

As for Sabrina, I always felt that even though she didn't display the Brunali nose, she seemed to have Icheb's hair and, in some way or another, air. So she may still end up being born. But that's just my fanon. Anyway, thanks for the info!

They were killed, not erased from history.

Ensign Jetal. Not erased from history but deleted from the Doctor's memories. I kinda like the idea that every prior episode is the filtered through the Doc's Jetal-free memories, but she was actually there and a part of their adventures all along.

their subsequent actions and achievements disappeared from history after people from the future created changes that ended their lives prematurely

the people killed by the borg attack on the community adjacent to cochrane's launch site and the people in the launch facility, everything they would have done afterwards ... erased.

But not all their actions and achievements before. If you wanna count it, cool beans.

"Before and After" does not erase history, it merely shows it being experienced in an unconventional manner. All the events still have the potential to take place. What might "erase" them is "The Gift," but really those are because of production decisions, not writing.

The Borg baby. Erased from the timeline without another thought.

I like the fanon theory that Marla Gilmore of the Equinox adopted the Borg baby. I don't buy that only ten regulars had life-changing experiences over seven years while the other 130 people just stood around pressing buttons.

No, Bell died saving the hostages, originally. That was a regular concern throughout the episode; Sisko taking the role of a man who died in that event. Anyway, Bell wasn't erased from history; he just died sooner than he was supposed to.
