Fascinating...

Luke becoming a hermit was intended by Lucas in 2012 for his original ep VII, just not quite in the way viewers saw it on screen.

I still like how it was carried out in the produced movie, but now I'd really want to see how Lucas would have done it if he didn't sell his baby to Disney. At least some of his concepts live on, even if altered.

And crazy hermit Luke was my favorite part of TLJ. I'd always assumed I would have liked Lucas's ideas better than what Disney originated, and I guess I was right.

George Lucas said The Last Jedi was beautifully made. That either means he hated it, or that it's his fault. Haven't yet decided which!

I get the impression he meant that it was technically very well made, but that he didn't care for the story being told. That seems to be his opinion of all the post-Sale Star Wars films.

And there's some reason why we shouldn't believe...that he actually LIKED it?

Oh wait, I think I get it now. SW fans are supposed to think that Lucas is the devil, so if he likes something, that means there's something wrong with it, amirite? OK, I understand the conundrum. :p

I hope we one day get to read the original story treatment for the sequel trilogy. It was supposedly 200 pages long! And also Michael Arndt's unfinished episode VII script, which he'd spent a year or two writing, which allegedly had Luke and Rey(originally named Kira?) going off on an adventure, or she finds him halfway through the movie, and he helps her. It was probably way different. It probably didn't even have the "Resistance" vs "First Order." All Lucas has said was that it was about Darth Vader's grandchildren, Luke, Han, and Leia's offspring.

Yeah, I would love to see/read it. Mark Hamill has described some of the original story boards from 2011-2012...it sounds interesting. However, I'm not keeping my finger's crossed. It will never be released.

The article is clickbait trash, like 77% of Star Wars articles posted around the time of a Star Wars release.

Dude chill. It's cool to not like a movie, but you're working yourself up a bit much man.

Oh no, Chill Patrol!!

I'm sorry Officer. I wasn't aware that I was working myself up. It just takes so very little effort to hate on this stinking, steaming, apocryohal, franchise killing pile of shit. Or the man responsible for it: RIAN JOHNSON.

Oh, and blowing on a fire rarely puts it out.

Wasn't aware he had deleted the rest of the franchise

I can totally understand the emoji there denoting your utter confusion, I haven't got a clue what your talking about either. I wasn't aware and never said that he deleted anything.

John Wilkes Booth killed Lincoln. Did he "delete" the Civil War?

Please, if your going to chime in try putting a little more wind into it.

Yep, a chill pill sounds like the right kinda meds right now. I'm glad you have an opinion, now just state it like one. ;)

And yet I liked it so much more than The Force Awakens.

Opinions...
