As predicted, we've got some nobody who is either seriously misinformed or just plain full of crap spreading rumors and the entire Internet freaking out.

    * sigh *

We know - and have for months - why an acting coach was hired for Alden, and it has nothing to do with what this anonymous yahoo thinks it does.

Lord and Miller's refusal to stay on script and actually make the movie Lucasfilm wanted them to got to the point where it was affecting Alden's ability to do his job, and so an acting coach was brought in to try and help him deal with and adapt to the situation.

We also know why they didn't push the release date for Solo back: the goal is to reclaim May as "Star Wars release month". Plus, they already had a script that they were all kinds of pleased with and just needed Howard to come in, "right the ship", and follow said script, only to realize they had an opportunity to allow him to make the movie definitively "his own"... hence him reshooting "80%" of the movie (in just 8 weeks [3 weeks of Principal Photography and 5 weeks of Pickup shooting], mind you, with no additional shooting days needing to be scheduled).

Episode IX was a different kettle of fish entirely, as they had to completely start over from the script stage when Carrie died and again when Trevorrow left or was fired.

Pay attention to the exact wording of the following:
The emphasis is mine, but the wording is key because it puts the onus of Lucasfilm's dissatisfaction squarely on the shoulders of Lord and Miller.

We also know, as I noted before, that Ron Howard was able to come in and reshoot about 80% of the movie in just 8 weeks and had no problems working with Alden whatsoever.

Out of five Disney Star Wars movies, including Solo and Episode IX, Solo will be the only one not released in December. I think it's time to accept that May is no longer the "Star Wars release month."
I doubt Fisher's death impacted the production of the movie in anyway. They obviously had to adjust the story, but I doubt there was a shooting script ready at the time of her death anyway, so there is no "Starting over at the script stage" they were still in the script stage. Trevorrow's departure is clearly the motivating factor in its postponement.

Traditionally, the fork at the front of the Falcon was said to lock onto the back of cargo containers, so it could push them. Hence why it's a ship with little storage and big engines, but still called a freighter. Not sure how the design filling in the forks is going to be accepted. Clearly they are going with the idea that some of the special modifications Han made include changing the front of the ship. However we saw some of the same model ship in the Prequels and they had the fork. Keep in mind that the one we saw in ROTS, was said by Lucasfim to actually be the ship that would become the Millennium Falcon.

Treverrow had a script for E9 that he was working fairly heavily on when Carrie passed away, and that he tossed out following her death. He had also been in the midst of one of numerous attempts at creating a new script and story when he either left voluntarily or was fired.

Terrio and Abrams' new script, therefore, does constitute "starting over from the script stage" even though the film hadn't yet gotten past the "script stage" when they were brought on.

Also, the December release dates for TFA, R1, and TLJ were initially going to be the 'outliers', with Solo and E9 heralding a permanent return to Star Wars films being released in May.

Well, that quote doesn't support your contention regarding the reason for the acting coach, because the article doesn't tell us the reason that Lucasfilm was dissatisfied with the performance.

Maybe filling in the fork was Han's secret to making the Kessel run in 12 parsecs. :shifty:

The Russo brothers were best known for directing some excellent episodes of Community and a pretty terrible Owen Wilson movie a decade ago when they landed at Marvel. Comedy is harder than drama by most accounts and the big action and effects sequences are rarely solo efforts from the director.

This has got to be fan-made right? There’s no way this crap is authentic right? Because if it’s not a fake...

Not necessarily, but it does suggest that the articles such as the one you linked to tend to have very little, if any merit.

If you’re the artist behind that fake fan-made artwork I apologize. I didn’t mean to insult your work. But you do need better reference photos for the Millennium Falcon.

According to CBR that artwork is fan made, not official.
Ok, I have to admit, I always forget that the Russos were mainly known Community before The Winter Soldier.

God, I hope that picture is a fake. Forget about the Falcon, Lando just looks... wrong.

"Hi, my name is Lando Calrissian; But the kids call me Mister Glass."
