Gives the Stanton story kinda a gross feel, sorta like a bad NBA trade or manipulation to create a super-team. He's decided that his desired teams are (totally coincidentally, I'm sure) the final 4 teams from the playoffs this year. Ugh. I mean, sorta has to go to a high payroll team anyway, so it was always going to feel like a 'rich getting richer' situation (at least at first, forget years from now when he's still getting paid), but to just blatantly call out the top 4 teams as the only ones you're interested in...
Especially when none of those teams really make any sense for him or have shown any interest. Dodgers and Yankees can afford it but are actively trying to reduce payroll somewhat. (LOL for the Dodgers, but hey). Astros seem unlikely to suddenly jump into mega-contract status, especially when some of their own players will need $$$ soon, dunno if there's a Cubs fit or not.
Certainly his right to pick his team, and everyone wants to get a ring, but if you're a 300M player, you should be able to help CREATE the team that gets the ring, shouldn't have to hide on a super-team.
