As title said, how many seasons of Discovery do you think will be produced?
After viewing the first 9 episodes, I'm oriented for 3 or 4 seasons.

We're in uncharted territory, so... blind guess: As many seasons as TNG but as many episodes as TOS.

I'd be okay if it was over after this one.

This was my reaction after I see the new Starships, the new uniforms, new Klingons and... ok , the fact that the show has its own canon (someone has to told Spock that he has a human sister:hugegrin:), but...

Now I'm enjoying it, the show has its own characters, storyline. I think that we need something new, for the old stuff we have Fan production like Star Trek Continues.

I'm just bored by it. I think they went for a little too much fan service.

If it continues to drive subscription numbers for CBSAA and Netflix internationally, it could go conceivably 4 seasons (13-15 episodes) or maybe one more. It's such an expensive show it's hard to see it going for 6 or more seasons.

Since the original Series was 3 seasons and Enterprise was 4 this will probably be 2.
Id love if it was longer though to go into TOS. Or like a hundred seasons!

About costs, at around 15 episodes a season and $8 million per episode, they'll need to cover production costs of $120 million a season. That means the cost of one season is equivalent to that of an expensive Hollywood movie.

That's about what Voyager and DS9 were costing per season, during their last few years.

At least a third, CBS won't be giving up on their platform's big draw that quickly. And as long as Netflix keep up the contract, it will run longer than that. I'd imagine we will end up with at least one additional spin-off too.
