[Ten paragraphs of incoherent rambling accusing you of being wrong, a troll, drunk and for some reason racist who disrespects Canon and the sanctity of Gene's Vision.]How will it fit?I figure right about here
ENT > Spore Drive < TOS
You forgot "Not a real fan!"[Ten paragraphs of incoherent rambling accusing you of being wrong, a troll, drunk and for some reason racist who disrespects Canon and the sanctity of Gene's Vision.]
[Ten more paragraphs of even more incoherent rambling in which I accuse you of not being a real fan and project my problems with people in my real life nonsensically onto you. Seriously, chill the fuck out, it's only thirty-five dollars.]You forgot "Not a real fan!"
It's only bad when Lorca does it[Ten more pages of incoherent ramblings of Sisko did this and Janeway did that and although they haven't been born yet it means spore drive IS possible but it will never be seen again?!?!!]
Maybe, but I don't think it's an accident that the writers used a mirror for their dramatic foreshadowing.I honestly think it will either be that, the fungi becomes self-aware and shuts it down, Stamets destroys the knowledge, or they encounter an "antimatter" universe that threatens to destroy both universes.
Once the Klingons or the Terran Empire get a hold of the spore drive technology, Starfleet decides they have to destroy the mycelial network to protect the Federation and the fabric of space-time itself.‘But the Spore drive? Who knows. It could be classified. There are many options. Some of the best ideas come from all over the place, not just in our writers room so I love hearing about the fan ideas and theories. We’ll have to see.’
In fact, that the second half of Discovery's first season uses jumps to the mirror universe was indication for me, that something is deeply wrong with the spore drive, so much so that the entire process needs to be disregarded to not even work as a secret weapon at any time in the future. That it destabilizes the basic fabrics of reality itself, or somesuch. Whatever it is, there must be a reason that they may never use it again after TOS or during TOS/TNG. Otherwise somebody surely would have used it against the ultimate threats posed by the Borg or the Dominion.
How do you think the spore drive will fit in the larger Trek universe?
Which part of the canon is the problem? Does a specific episode come to mind?It may fit into a cannon, though. And then be shot straight outta that cannon from the canon.
Seriously, no way this fits into the canon. They screwed up badly. (but "they're looking for solutions as we speak...")

So there is nothing the canon that creates a problem and that's a problem????None. Well, that's part of the problem.
The Coca Cola Drive has too many problems and it disrupts the fabric of the universe. Let's just use warp drive from now on.No, I don't see why there would be any problem in using a Coca Cola drive either... it's just... I don't see anyone later using that magnificent Coca Cola drive.

We probably will at some point.Well let's.
