Is Discovery your new favorite Star Trek series?

Not that good because of writing problems (the main one involves cramming too much content and rushing the main story arc plus some involving character development) but resource-wise those are the least difficult to solve.

No.

I watched 3,5 episodes (quit during the fourth, I wanted to see Mudd but then had to quit and couldn't find interest to continue).

Absolutely. I've been so excited to watch it every week and discuss it in detail afterwards. Bummer that there's a hiatus now.

Certainly not. But it's my favorite season 1 of of any Star Trek show thus far. Not a high bar, I know.

I do not have a favorite Star Trek series.

I am in Star Trek for the characters and the world building. I will say that "Discovery" so far has been weak on both counts. I have not developed an affectation for the characters.

Yes. I gave it 9 episodes, one was enjoyable, a few were average, most were awful. I gave it an honest try but it failed to catch my interest, not going to bother with it anymore.

I think at this juncture it's good to track its development. I wonder why people who like it watch? Perhaps it's a personal choice?

1. DS9
2. DIS
3. TNG
4. TOS (need to watch more of it, so it may end up going higher)
5. Enterprise (Parts of season 3 and most of season 4 were good)
6. VOY (used to be number one many, many years ago, but Season 6 and 7 ruined it for me. I'll never forgive them for Endgame what a pile of shit that episode was)

I wonder how it would've progressed in terms of establishing itself if the half way point of its first season was the twelfth or thirteenth episode? I personally prefer proper seasons of 20 plus episodes.

I would prefer shows not tend end either.

I think that they have to work within their parameters and that this limit might be a good thing storywise.
