Also, it was only two scenes, separated by multiple episodes.
...because apparently what you guys think we do is just talk about boys, tickle each other and have pillow fights in our underwear...
(well, we do do that, but that's not all we do).

Me neither, but it is a great little character detail.Oh, damn. I definitely did not catch that detail.![]()
I think it makes sense in the context of the two times she saw her.Finished the season, loved it.
Mildly miffed that they had El be so hostile towards Max.
That's one trope that should have stayed buried in the '80s.
Hopefully we'll get more of Max and El together as part of "the party" next season. I understand what you're saying here, but with her relationship with her brother and his friends, and the age difference, I think it makes sense that we didn't really see a lot of Nancy and El interaction. It might have been nice to get more scenes with El and Joyce though. That's a big part why it sticks out, those are the only scenes between them. It was just unnecessary and a freaking obvious boy fantasy thing.
Genre fiction historically sucks at writing women and girls, because it has mostly been written by guys for guys with mostly guy lead characters, with the occasional one token girl, so when there's finally two and they immediately hate each other over a guy, it just jumps out to me as annoyingly blatant male perspective.
It does kinda suck that this seasons that has so many good guy bonding moments, there's a lack of girl friendship moments, because Nancy and Max and El are all cool, but they don't interact with each other at all. I have no doubt they'll do better next season, I just hope they don't do it the way the usual girl friendships go, because apparently what you guys think we do is just talk about boys, tickle each other and have pillow fights in our underwear (well, we do do that, but that's not all we do). But I'm fairly positive that's not how next season will go.

I don't have a problem with that because those are the mysteries that the show is slowly exploring and building up towards. Besides, those mysteries (much like LOST...) are secondary to the important part of the show, i.e. the stories of these characters. My only real complaint so far was that I was hoping we'd get a more detailed exploration of The Upside Down and what exactly The Mind Flayer and Deomogorgon/Demodogs were.
Season 3 definitely won't be out until 2019.Filming started in April 2018... so I guess we'll have to wait until sometime later this year or early 2019.
Yup! I believe a few of us talked about it earlier in the thread. Great stuff.Has anyone here seen the "Beyond Stranger Things" interviews? They're a nice compliment to the series.

Thanks -- hadn't seen that. Jake Busey? That's Gary Busey's son.The show's Twitter account tweeted a short video of the cast gathering for a read through of one of the season 3 episodes.

So did you have friends with walkie-talkies? I did, but back in the 70's the only good ones were very expensive. Ours had very limited range... not nearly as good as those kids had in Stranger Things.Yeah buddy! So the next one will take place in 1985... now let's see, in 1985 I was 12, and I lived in a house in Marietta GA on a Maple Avenue, while Michael in the show is around 12 and lives on a Maple Street... I swear, watching this has been like reliving my childhood. It's crazy.
